Hey everyone I am new to this site. I am on a hunt to make the new Knight Rider replica. I have the original, well actually I sold it. But I am destined to make this replica. Any info would help. Thanks!!

I wouldn't be in such a rush to make a replica out of the Mustang. The cars used in the backdoor pilot have been sold off, which means the production crew will be using new vehicles once the series starts. That means there may possibly be some design changes made to the car by that time. If that happens and you like the changes better, you may find that you would have to spend more money to make the 'Stang look more accurate to the final version. On the other hand, it may not change at all, but my advice is to wait and see a few months.

Not really hard to make a KITT replica from the TV movie since there wasn't a whole lot done to the car unless you're planning on using the "Attack" KITT.

Wait until the series to see what they've done to update and change the design. Hopefully they'll be doing a lot to improve it because IMO it was rather "meh". Hopefully Belker will be kicked to the curb and they'll have someone who actually is familiar with and cares about the original. If they hate the Fast and the Furious movies and the cars then even better.

Inasmuch as Gary Scott Thompson, the new showrunner, WROTE the Fast and the Furious, I don't think you're going to see a lot of hate for that franchise.

I DO think there will be improvements, though.

I believe the quote on the feel of the new series direction was, "Las Vegas meets The Fast and the Furious."

So I wouldn't expect the car to change from being a "rice car" much. I happen to really like the first Fast and the Furious movie so we'll see what happens I guess. The last two, not so much and Fast and the Furious 4 might be decent since Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are reprising and reuniting their roles for it.

What do you mean the cars have been sold off? I know 2 sold at Barrett-Jackson but what about the 4 other cars they had for the pilot? Did they sell those aswell?

Just a quick note here about the auction. They sold off the "hero" KITT and "hero" attack KITT, I think that would be a good indication they're making a new/improved KITT design (possibly different?) for the series because without the hero cars, they're only left with the stunt cars and "mule" car. You couldn't make a series based off those, they wouldn't be fit for "hero" shots and one of them has a cage on top of it.

I forgot about that, well just as long as it isn't turned in a Fast and the Furious clone...... Yeah I'm sure there will be, especially since they have a lot more time to work on this stuff, I know I'd be severely let down if there wasn't. Because even though I did like the TV movie overall, it was far from perfect.
