RE: Knightcon 07 Video Footage

There has been quite a bit of speculation surrounding the video clip below as of late. I believe this could be due to the increase in traffic it has received as of late and I would like to clear up some confusion about when and how it was made, what it contains and so on.

1. Is the script Glen is holding up real or just a bunch of empty pages and a fancy cover? I can assure you that it is the complete script that was turned in before the WGA strike deadline at the time this video was shot. The artwork is preliminary artwork for the motion picture done for Glen and will probably change by the time marketing is addressed. Now having seen what the NBCU backdoor pilot has done it has become necessary to go back and revise some of the script as well as iron out some other story details that were addressed.
In order to make the best movie possible, we really want to have a solid script that delivers what the fans are expecting that can be delivered and that starts with a story that has the spirit and feel of the Knight Rider we've grown to love, with the characters acting as they should.
2. When Glen refers to KITT rising from the ashes, is that a reference that he's going to use a Pontiac Trans Am in the movie? The answer is no. It's more methaphorical that when a Pheonix dies and bursts into flames into a pile of ash, it is reborn brighter, better, and stronger then ever but also not the same in appearance as it's former self.
KITT will be reborn and retain the spirit that makes KITT who he should be but like a actor who switches their physical features for different roles, the costume must change to fit in with both the context of the story and the setting it takes place. Likewise with Michael Knight, Devon, and so on. Different faces, different costumes, same characters.
3. When was this video shot? It was shot September 25th, which predates the announcement of NBCU's Knight Rider television series. NBCU has known Glen has been trying to get a movie going with The Weinstein Company. Up until this point, we did not know NBCU was planning on revitalizing a television series.
The video was created as an exclusive for Knightcon 07 for the fans of the UK. I was contacted by a good friend, derekacorah to request Glen make a video for the event. After some planning and scheduling, Glen agreed and after the video was shot a few days later a quick edit was put together to present the best presentation possible for the event that would make it there on time.
An image file of the script cover art was also provided and revealed exclusively at the event.
Glen did not feel that a typical "home movie" recorded announcement was appropriate for his first address to the public in several years. He wanted to make it feel extra special and not last minute.
The video was not shown until the event. After the exclusive revealing, it was then shared with Merrick of Aintitcoolnews (AICN) and a small blurb written by me explaining the distinction between the NBCU project and the Motion Picture news which was revealed prior to the unveiling at Knightcon 07.
4. Will Glen make another video? The answer yes. Due to the continued rise in views of a video that is several months old, Glen is very interested in making more videos because it shows him you the Knight Rider fans really do care what he has to say and what he's trying to do.
I am currently in the process of arranging for Glen to film another video, given the response to his last one. I am also in the process of seeing if he's open to recording another video for Knightcon 08. At this point in time it's too early to tell.
I ask that people please stop trying to discredit this video. I honestly don't see how you can "fake" anything in this video save for possibly the opening graphics and closing graphics, but the fact that Glen holds up the same script with the same text used in the opening should speak for itself. Not to mention that before this point in time, Glen has rarely spoken to the public about his projects, he's a person who values his privacy.
Glen graciously agreed to speak to the fans for Knightcon 07 and suprised us all when he decided to announce his motion picture plans as a special bonus to reward his fans for keeping the spirt of Knight Rider alive for the last 25 years. If he sees that people are excited, it makes him excited and motivated to remind not only his fans but also himself about how much Knight Rider has made an impact on generations of fans worldwide.
He understands the property because he created it. Trust in Glen that he will do everything in his power to not dissapoint his audience. Revolution Studios wanted to take KITT into a direction that clearly was not the spirit of the original show so Glen had to decline moving forward at the time. TWC is more open to his ideas and has approved the majority of his script. Now it's a matter of ironing out the concerns, finding the new car, and getting the details right...the details YOU FANS EXPECT to be there.
You've been patient and frustrated, we ask you continue to be vigilant because your hopes and dreams to see KITT turbo boosting across the silver screen are being taken a step closer to reality with each passing week. The 2010 date is tenative, it could be released sooner. At this point in time progress is being made to meet the deadline.

Looking to the future I might suggest you keep your eye on the horizon because like a mighty pheonix, KITT will rise from the ashes to fight the forces of evil once more.
