The Black River stuff reminded me of Ravenwood from Jericho, it's the same stuff.

War shouldn't be something any person or country wants. The plot of the movie was to stop technology from creating uncalled for wars. Isn't that something both party lines want?

But notice that Mike was also in Iraq, as an actual soldier, and he's portrayed as flawed but honorable character.
Note that Black River is a "private security company." They're not part of the government, they're contract work.
What did Mike say? "They're just in it for the money." And he wasn't happy about that.
They made the actual military guy show anger over the base motivations of a private company. I wouldn't go so far as to say that's anti-war liberal bias.
I think it's safe to say that, ideologically speaking, Knight Rider is pretty broad. Homosexuality is shown with no moral judgment, but then ise used as the 'punchline' of a joke. Mike is shown with two ladies, yet by the end you get the sense that he's not proud of all that, now that he's admitted his feelings to Sarah. Aspects of the war are condemned, while others are at least nominally praised. Jesus is quoted, and the show emphasizes the idea that one man can make difference even in a world described as "insane."

People only think a show has an "agenda" if they don't agree with.
I'd argue that the entire original series was built upon a political agenda: the 80s were a time of big corporate mergers, and the mentality of "Greed is Good". It was the rise of the mega-store putting Mom & Pop shops out of business. This corporate shift did a lot of great things for the economy, but Knight Rider portrayed corporations as evil. They "operate above the law." That was the entire basis of the original show, and that DOES reflect a political agenda.
Good television reflects the times. In the 80s, people were concerned about the growing power of corporate America. In 2008, the uncertainty about the war is absolutely very relevant to people, but this show barely touched upon it, if at all.

I don't understand this at all. Mercenaries (who really DO exist) are by definition only in it for the money. Do you think Haliburton is in Iraq out of the love of peace and harmony? No - they won a contract, just like any contractor for hire. This does not make them bad people necesarily. I saw the Black River guys as no more a "political agenda" than the old series being "anti police" because it had a corrupt sheriff now and then.

Excellent examples!

To me, it sounded like "Black River" was an obvious reference to the real-life Blackwater U.S.A., which is a secretive company based in North Carolina. The Bush Administration deployed a shadow army of Blackwater soldiers to Iraq and Afghanistan, and they have additional soldiers deployed in other countries as well. It's headed by Erik Prince, a right-wing Christian conservative and ally of President Bush. Without getting too deep into the details, it's extremely controversial because there is widespread speculation that Blackwater is shielded from wrongdoing in Iraq by the Bush Administration, and Congress has difficulty finding out much information about the group, as its operations are shrouded in secrecy. Blackwater soldiers' deaths and injuries are not even counted or included in the overall count of war-related injuries and deaths in Iraq. In short, they've been said to be a group of mercenaries who've declared themselves above the law (sound familiar)?
Not intending to spark any political debates here, just commenting on the speculation of the group and the similarities mentioned in the telepic. It seems to me that if Mike Traceur is an Iraq war veteran, the script is simply reflecting modern occurrences in the world, albeit making certain name changes for a fictitious world.

Wasn't there a secret group of some kind that was the enemy of FLAG in the original show?
