Better remake than Bay's TransFormers ?

A fun question came to my mind. Was NBC's KR movie last night a better remake than Bay's TransFormers ?

Obviously, Bay had a very different budget for TransFormers, but for hardcore fans of both franchises from the 80's, I figured I'd like to hear what people had to say when asked that question.

For the last 120mn, I've been reading the forums (don't tell my boss !!!) and yesterday's show's main pros and cons are truly beginning to appear evident. The idea for the KR-TF parallel came when I noticed many of the shortcomings mentioned had a lot in common with what we could read on boards last summer when Bay's TF came out.

Personally, I tend to agree with a lot of the most recurrent pros and cons. However, it took me about 6 months and 8 or 10 viewings before I felt honest about my opinion for Bay's TF. The more I watched the more I became familiar with what I saw and therefore things started to grow on me.

I don't think you can really compare between the two. The only similarity is the AI in the vehicles, and even then, KITT has a very different and unique persona to the Transformers. He is completely different.

well, given that the movie was a continuation of the old series, i think its done well.

sure, the car and some of the acting wasn't to everybody's expectations, but i was pleasantly surprised.

it just had a knight rider feel to it and Justin and the car reminded me a lot of David and the car.

All in all, i think they did well, given that they couldn't change any of the script whilst shooting as the strike was on.

so all in all.

the best positive for me is Justin Bruening, He is a cool guy and reminds us so much of David Hasselhoff !
Same tall, witty guy, and I think is going to be terrific with Val Kilmer as the new KITT.

another positive is Deanna Russo, she is very likeable and almost a sort of Bonnie type character.

Considering the past attempts have failed to bring Knight Rider forward,
this one has done its job, and now its up to NBC and writers to let them expand on this new series.

The mustang looks terrific i have to say, and i at first was sceptical.
I think now when people look at a mustang, they will think KITT now first and foremost, and will become a new iconic character like the old Transam KITT !
