Its important to note that Glen Larson did not give his permission for these credits. Should be interesting to see how it plays out in court.

I saw that and was wondering how the hell that happened. I figured they had to say that the characters were his, but I was mighty confused by the Executive Producer bit.

I was wondering the same thing. I know I have not been on the board for a while I was wondering if I missed something. I thought he didn't want anything to do with the tv movie. I know he has been writing and making a motion picture, I am glad to see I am not seeing things.

From what I remember hearing a while back, in any TV incarnation of Knight Rider they HAVE to give Glen and Executive Producers credit if he is not to be involved with the movie. It's part of his contract with NBC and the rights to the TV distribution.

I was surprised they gave him an executive producer credit (but of course not surprised by the "Characters by..." cred). However, it strikes me as a contractual obligation more than anything else. I'm sure there's some clause in his contract with NBC that any KR related project has to have his name on it somewhere, which is fine since it was his brainchild - whether or not he supports the current version or not.

I believe that they have to give him Exec Prod credit only if he wants it. If he doesn't want his name attached as an Executive Producer, they then have to leave it off.
