Shapeshifter has been very kind to share what info he has from his connections with the NBC production (thank you!). But when he mentioned this I felt it deserved its own thread:

"I've also heard that the voice of KITT will be Will Arnett (Blades of Glory)."

I can't speak for Shapeshifter, and I want to be clear that he is not declaring this as fact. I'm just treating it as rumor and speculation at this point.

I like Will Arnett a lot (although he hasn't found the right breakthrough movie role yet.) He plays smug characters very well, which would tie in very nicely with the idea of KITT.

So IF this turns out to be true - again, no one is claiming it's a fact - I for one could be happy with it.

Michael, you're absolutely right. Until this gets confirmed in the trades, it should not be treated as fact. And I will admit that I'm not as sure about this call as I have been on some of the earlier calls I've made. After all, this is very important casting--the show will be greatly affected by this person, and I'd hate to get it wrong.

If the usual pattern holds, it should be confirmed (or proven not true) in the next few days.

I'm just trying to picture his voice saying,"I am the voice of the Knight Industries Three Thousand microprocessor.K-I-T-T for easy reference,Kitt if you prefer." out of a 2008 mustang.

will arnett should be good as the voice of kitt, as he has done voice work for gmc and the lamisil commercials, he has a very good voice.

I think he's awesome. I'm sure if you enter his name on youtube.com you can find some stuff he's done. He does a lot of voices, so I think he's a great choice.

but his voice is very villainous and menacing. I think he'd be a great Karr but highly skeptical about kitt.

I've never seen any of his work, nor have I heard his voice. So I don't have an opinion on the casting one way or another. I will wait and see when the telepic premieres.

He was quite good in Arrested Development, played arrogant really well. Because of that I'm curious how they're gonna have this KITTs personality be - jerky or like original KITT.

Those voice over samples give me good confidence for honoring KITT.

Good choice for Kitt's voice! It has character. I wanted John Billignsley to be Kitt but now I changed my mind
