Great footage it was entertaining to hear that one guy talk about his run-in with the police.
Usually the police are fairly cool when they see KITT, but once in awhile they push their wait around.
Again great footage & the photo's were great to see also.

First I'd like to say thank you to Neil for posting on my behalf,

I give credit where it is due and the shots marked "hoffdan" were taken by my good friend Daniel from Knights of the West Coast, his dedication to delivering our package to The Hoff is truly inspirational. If you set a goal, stay determined, and you capture the right moment, you can achieve your dreams.

His goal was reached.

I mainly got stuck on the same side as Sue, facing the passenger side of the Audi trying to catch a good photo through a pocket of room amidst a swarm of other cameras, cellphones, and camcorders. I wish I could extract what I actually saw into a image because then I'd really have some impressive views. I saw David several times from less then a foot away but with the motion factor, the camera didn't see it the way I did clear enough.

Maybe I'll be more aggressive next time with my shots like I did at SDCC.

Pity we didn't see KITT (finally) show up, it was a exhausting experience just manuevering through the crowds trying to get to David's car and once he was out of it and in the hotel, man forget about it. Good times.

Hope you enjoy the photos, unfortunately my camera doesn't like a lack of light and consistant motion. Sue did a great job capturing her shots and we're lucky to have someone like her in the field.

Wonder what they did on KITT for $30K in 4 weeks? Rush job?

Apparently a fuel tank replacement, as well as the intank fuel pump and fuel lines wasn't part of it. Especially after 17 years of sitting as it was. Common sence in any restoration.

Being a Crossfire 305, if any engine work was done, I am surprised they found anyone that knew how to make it run right in Austria. Even in the US, if I don't do the work myself, the only mechanics that know what they are doing that I would refer them to are Corvette shops. Fortunately, there should be plenty of those around in California.

Very cool Sue! Yeah, that's the fuel pump blown, from what it sounds like when he tried to start it. Cranking like a bandit on ice but no start (alternator problem you would get WOO click-click-click as the battery would have lost charge cuz the alternator wasn't charging it or the battery was too old).

However, he better check the distributor. Don't that car have one? And pickup coil? On my chevy truck I had, the crank shaft was bent, and the timing chain was messed up so it wasn't getting spark.

1. Check for spark. If so

2. Turn key, listen for fuel pump

That's what I'd be doing. It's best not to pull the fuse unless you intend to drop the gas tank and install a new pump.

Bet a blown fuel pump is what downed KITT. If anyone knows for sure, please post! Would be nice to find out for sure. My best wishes to the owner as well.

Also, not to put anyone down, but flooded engines are DAMN hard to start on carbbed engines (and I do assume that's a carbed 350 or crossfire under the hood?) And if you don't do it right, it'd flood more. IF there was a smell of gas, yes, you flooded it. But if you don't smell gas (from where you're sitting in the car) then chances are it's a spark or fuel delivery problem.

I know one in Rochester, NY. And he's a regular repair garage, not a corvette shop. I know the guy and he's got a couple others on staff as well, and let me tell you - they can fix nearly ANYTHING.

When you said kitt doesn't like crap on him I remembered Knight Flight to freedom where kitt has to dress up for a border patrol.Nowadays he probably looks like that exactly.

Did anyone ask David, or can anyone confirm, the history of that KITT car? Was it a European tour car, or one used in the series, or just a replica?

I'm chatting with Peter over email, and I'm hoping to get the full story. George's father is a tour producer and helped Hoff do the Night Rocker tour - I'm pretty certain that it is a car from that tour.

In Hoff's autobiography, he talks about how he had his dad build two KITT cars for the tour and shipped them over. One got totaled by a fan running it into a brick wall - and I'm guessing this is number two.

Still, it doesn't really matter to me one way or another if it is a screen used KITT or not. Hoff in any KITT is always nice to see. (even a RHD KITT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgX-hiQdfFw)

Yeah that was George, you would think he’d know, It was a little confusing. Hopefully they will give Neil and answer, I am quite curious myself.

I do know they filmed quite a few of the 'Hoff Concerts -- its possible the blond might be confused in that respect. I know Pontiac requested that all the original TV series cars be crushed, but I wouldn't be surprised if one or two slipped out the door.

I heard that one was rescued(actually stolen)from the hands of doom(aka:the car crusher).I don't know if it's true,or just a rumor,or it could have been another KITT used for somthing besides the show.

The guy that was riding shot gun with the Hoff said that it was made specifically for the Night Rocker
Tours with David, so it was most probably one of the two Trans Ams known to be a gift from Pontiac.

As to original KITT's at least one escaped the dreaded wrecking ball ,Tim Russo who attended the last two
Knight's Of The West Coast events at Saugus brought one of the death defying screen used KITT's to our show
until Tim sold the car last year.

Im sad to say that the current owner -whereabouts ( unknown ) will not be bringing KITT into public view for awhile.
Also when I spoke to George Barris last year he revealed that by contract, Im assuming with respect to Universal & Pontiac the Super Pursuit Mode KITT was for sure one of those that are no longer with us.

However I look forward to the Saugus Show to display my big screen used KITT for Hasselhoff's cameo in
Kickin It Old Skool- Jamie Kennedy's 2006 comedy ,that coincidentally was used in the movie as David's replica of KITT because David was playing himself in that flick.
And I was allowed to drive the car in David's scene, good times. Time to button up.

I thought Mark from Mark's Custom Kits had refurbnished a screen-used car, and even showed pictures of the keyring and other documents that said "Universal" on it. Might have been one of the "rescued" ones? And on one of the conversion forums, someone had once posted pics of a very rusted out, gutted KITT in Universal's back lot. Don't know if that was screen-used or not...

I bet not all were destroyed. I mean I think someone may have rescued a couple at least. If that indeed happened, I can't say I blame them.

Well KITT was feeling a bit under the weather when we saw him last in Los Angles he is apparently feeling… well… a little bit better. He was keeping up with the pack in this video of him arriving in Shanghai.
