Odd suggestion since if they weren't screaming or panicing, that probably means the script probably did not call for it. In that case, shouldn't the more accurate criticism be that the writer should have written some panic in?
to goldbug - you always bring up good points..

my guess is, i'm sure kitt knows what hits he can take after that missle hit him in episode 1. plus, im sure kitt was always able to turb into a sub. we're just like mike, we dont show up for all kitt's briefings. aint he the most advanced car in the world?

That's what I am saying... Whoever is in charge needs to step it up. But they also say particular actors bring life to a script.... This show needs some cpr fast, because it is not gonna last beyond this season if they don't step it up.

Have you ever been in a car wreck? What was your reaction? Let alone got hit with a missle and plunged off a cliff and had you car sink into the water... Would you be calm and just have a normal conversation with the person your riding with? regardless if you was in bulletproof air tight car. I imigine for at least a good few seconds you would be like WTF?

Remember when MIchael and kitt skidded out of control and went off the cliff in Goliath returns? Was michael calm? Ohh my goodness kitt, we have appeared to skidded off the cliff, I have no worries (starts whistling) No you seen a somewhat nervous reaction about a possible certain death situation.

There is a difference however. I think Mike and Zoe knew that KI3T could withstand the blast, so they knew they wouldn't die, but they were still stressed about it. It's sort of like someone sparring with you. If you're not used to it, you intellectually know they're not going to punch you hard but you might still feel some concern, but far less than you would if some random guy tried to punch you on the street. Their reactions weren't a problem, just the super quick cut of the car suddenly "vanishing" (although to be fair, a slow mo viewing supposedly shows the car going over).

Yeah, how many times did we see the Hoff handle stressful situations calmly.

consider too, that Mike is an ex Army Ranger who did at least 1 tour of Iraq, he's probably been in a lot more dangerous situations that having a missile fired at him while he's in a missile proof car.

And he did seem fairly pissed when the FBI dude tried to say it was their fault.

But yes any complaints of the acting should be directed at the director and script writers. They are the ones who decide what we see.

What about when that little plastic Kitt tumbled down the slope of dirt with those big clumps of dirt pretending to be boulders ROFL
In which episode did this happen?

First of all double posting is rude (Or are you having problems logging on?) and second of all while I do not recall the exact name there was indeed an episode in which there was a landslide and KITT was smack in the middle of it, probably caused by the villains of that particular episode. As I recall in the original show whether it was rocks, logs or lava they showed indeed a platic mniature KITT the screen was split one showing the incident and the other showing Michael inside and then went into the obligatory commercial brake. You see I do remember the show pretty well not to mention that the Sleuth channel still showcases re-runs of the old show and I do watch every now and them. Anyway I have no problems with the new show, except maybe the plasma that K.R seems to eject for it's turboboost as that thing would probably fry anyone nearby...

Big Iron is one example.. not the exact one I was thinking of though.

Theres another episode where Kitt slides backwards (and maybe sideways) down a step slop and theres a couple of "boulders" which are actually just clumps of dirt with a model like above.

Excuse me. I think if you'll look you'll see they double post was a the same time, it was an accident  , but Thank you very much for the answer just the same. I thought ROFL was an abbreviation for an episode. I too remember several episodes where KITT "flipped" over. Goliath, obviously, Speed Demons, I think, with the dirt bikes, Big Iron, and also I recall KITT tipping up onto his side in Knight of the Drones. I don't remember the other one you speak of, but I always liked the 2 episodes I remember when KITT flipped over a bunch of times and came out unharmed. :good:

I like how in the original series KITT was full of "James Bond" gadgets but made more futuristicly, electronic, cool way, for instance the ejector seat. I think the Lotus Esprit Bond car is the only one coming close to KITT, the submarine mode where the digital readouts turns on etc.

Now in the Casino Royale even the Bond car doesn't have much gadgets, pretty much the secret compartment in the dash & the defibrillator are the only ones I remember in that film, should watch again the dvd. I don't know if the Quantum of Solace will have more gadgets though.

Special gadgets are what gives Michael Knight an edge over the villains, that's in my opinion one of the trademarks of Knight Rider that needs to be in every incarnation of the show. I think gadgets belong to the Bond car too so I hope the new movie will have them more but that's off topic.
