Could Kitt have knocked out goliath's Wheel?

I get the aerodynamic concepts behind the wedge attack. But, since both Kitt and Goliath are protected by the MBS wouldn't that cancel each other out so basically it would be as if a regualr semi and regular Trans Am were going head to head. At that point the physics of the situation would dictate that Goliath make mince meat out of Kitt. In that situation no head to head solution would be possible. I always thought that MK's plan was suicide. However, had they found away to neutralize Goliath's MBS the wedge attack would be successfull.
