Victor I'am not looking for ammunition against you. But I can't help wondering what you are up to like other people have said. But I can understand your fustration with Glen's movie where not much seems to be going on for you to report to us.

Let's get one thing straight here Neil, you can fool the community into buying your story but it won't fly with me. You publically have claimed time and time again you give equal consideration to both the feature film and the NBCU backdoor pilot, yet the ratio of support has shifted in the backdoor pilot's favor and anyone who has posted against it has been publically attacked for it. You've done a great job of trying to keep a prestine image of a completely non baised site...

Victor, it's not fair to come join this forum right at the real onset of when the news of the NBCU pilot was announced and watch the buildup over the next few months sway uncontrollably toward that and then complain that everybody (including Neil) must be biased toward it when (as other people here have pointed out) that's been truly the only real big news to come out in the Knight Rider world recently. I, along with many, many people on this board am anticipating Glen's feature film with much eagerness and excitement but the script for that hasn't even been completed with all of the rewrites yet so until that happens and production starts, you can't expect everyone here to get excited over something that's frankly in limbo right now with the WGA strike.

Also, unless you've been secretly watching over these forums for much longer than you've been a member, you shouldn't attack the admin of this site when frankly, it seems like you haven't known him for more than a few months (correct me if I'm wrong). I've been a member on this site for about 8 or 9 years now and I've watched it grow and mature year after year and I have to say in Neil's defense that he is one of the best, impartial admins I've ever come across when it comes to online forums and websites.

As Michael said, when TKR came out, all the internet buzz was about that and he covered that on the earliest version of these boards and when news came out years ago that David Hasselhoff wanted to bring back Knight Rider as a feature film, he covered that and now, when news comes out about the NBCU pilot and about Glen's project, Neil is covering both and trying to do it in the best way possible. To accuse him of being biased is narrow and naive (and that's not opinion, it's fact. Look up the definitions of both terms in the dictionary).

As for the accusation that when people here post against the NBCU backdoor pilot they get publicly attacked, it's one thing to post an opinion like "The NBCU pilot seems rushed and sloppy so far and if it turns out that way, I won't be a fan of it" and it's quite another to post something antagonistic like "Things are about to become very public, very shortly. You called down the thunder NBCU, well now you've got it." And frankly, I haven't seen anyone on these forums really who have said that they are against the NBCU pilot and get publicly slaughtered over their words. We're a pretty easy-going community here most of the time and we're open to all opinions, so long as they're appropriate and not publicly attacking other members.

What the members here have a problem with is your flagrant disregard for being courteous and respectful of others and your apparent inability to control your temper. It does no good to anyone to respond to members by saying things like "Truth hurts doesn't it?," "Anything else you wish to impulsively chime in about?," "You're clueless, I'm not wasting my time with you after the last time I destroyed your observations.," or "if there is anyone more full of it on here, it is you." These types of responses are not welcomed here. Try to maintain some semblance of professionalism instead of acting childish and it will serve you well.

See, THIS is exactly why it is so difficult for any new venture into the Knight Rider franchise to become successful. There are an hundred different points of view, which are all taken incredibly seriously by their respective "owners", and chaos ensues. Sorry this may seem harsh, but I've had enough from everyone.

"The car's a Mustang!" "There's no Turbo Boost in the new movie!" "Hasselhoff isn't in it enough!" "We're not giving equal time to the motion picture!" And on, and on, and on. Even the owners of the website are doing it: "Look how cool we are, getting interviews and such, which gets us absolutely nothing, except to make us look incredibly cool!"

This consistent argumentative attitude, from nearly everyone that posts here, is representative of why the telemovie is already facing an uphill battle. People, it's JUST A TV SHOW! You can like KR, even love it (I certainly do) - but at the end of the day, it's a simple form of entertainment, and that's it. Arguing about it simply shows how you are taking this all too seriously.

Honestly: Victor making Glen Larson out to be the "savior of the franchise" is ridiculous. KR wasn't that good until he took a back seat in the later seasons. Galactica died after one year - then he made Galactica 1980! Magnum P.I.? The concept sucked until CBS got Bellisario to overhaul it into a good show. Trust me, I'll be first in line to see the motion picture - and will be there with a completely open mind - but Glen's track record is quite awful.

Then there's the "it sucks!" crowd. Information on the telemovie comes out, and (just like KR2000 and TKR) we constantly get "the car is crap", and "Hasselhoff has to be the star", and "no Turbo Boost = no viewers", etc. It's not 1987, so guess what? We'll NEVER get KR Season 5. If you don't open up to new possibilities, you'll always be disappointed.

And finally, the supposed "loyal enthusiasts", like the moderators. This webboard - which is about a TV SHOW - is taken so seriously, it boarders on obsession. The ambiguous announcement about "exclusive interviews" & the like isn't ultimately to make the website better, or to give the fans more info - it's to make everyone say "wow, the guys working on the website are so cool!"

You can all deny it, but 10 years of posts on this board show the trend. So, all I can say is (in the nicest way possible): start understanding that it's just a TV show, treat it as such. Quite frankly, I am positive that you won't, and you'll continue to argue the new NBC project (and eventually, the movie) into non-existence.

And, while I'm here (and I'm not planning on posting again), here's some new information that I didn't see on the webboard yet: I went to see a movie at the local AMC, and their "AMC First Look" before the movie replaced the preview of American Gladiators (which was running for the past couple of weeks) with one of the new NBC Knight Rider. It was basically the stuff we got in the 2-minute preview, but expounded upon into a 5-minute segment. Pretty cool, but I definitely don't know how to get a copy of it

I've just rewatched Knight Rider again from season 1.
I'm doing a season a week and im a few eps into season 4.

The quality of the show got worse as the seasons went on, not better.
Season 4 is ok..but the SPM is stupid looking.

I have to say I agree with SOME of the comments about Larson, they were mainly true as far as the track record went, but the man was a genius with taking what are essentially silly concepts and turning them into credible television shows. Yes, Magnum needed overhauled, and yes I agree Knight Rider seemed to find its legs when it was taken over by Foster mid-season one (whilst I LOVE the pilot and "Inside Out" I much prefer the kr that came later that year, and in seasons two and three), but what came before the switch was still excellent too. Basically, yes he created it and what he did on the show was superb, but there's no reason why this new show can't be as good, or even better than what went before - it happened with Battlestar

On another note, when Stargate SG1 got commissioned, apparently MGM TV approached the creators of the movie about doing the tv show but they turned it down, wishing instead on a movie trilogy. MGM wasn't interested in that though and hired two executive producers who had both showed interest sperately at different times. The movie's original creators were righty miffed (and are vocal about it on the director's cut commentary) but look what us fans got in the end - a hugely successful series that was truly entertaining from start to finish, which in my opinion simply wouldn't have had the same scope and appealling characters if the original creators had taken it. Now we have the same thing with kr. NBC approached Glen (according to news sites) but he wished to go the way of the motion picture, while NBC then carried on with the tv show without him. So yeah, looking back at Stargate I can understand frustrations in his camp, but what has happened here is ridiculous. I too have been attacked by Victor on here for supporting the new series and for having doubts over the movie - attacking the fans you want to keep is not smart, neither is attacking probably the biggest kr fan community web site out there, which you would need to promote your 'wares if it ever went ahead.

Neil, Michael, Joe - keep up the good work. I look forward to all the new news, interviews and features. I know it is all being done for the fans, any website/magazine etc would do the same. We all know it's not for blowing your own trumpet - if it were then all the genre magazines, behind the scenes feature writers, fan web sites etc simply wouldn't exist. As a huge kr fan, looking forward to it all.
