One thing to remember, KITT was just the computer, not the car.
The Trans Am was just the body he was placed in. It can still be KITT
even though he is in a new body.......
I agree we are all used to seeng him in a TA (as well as a TV set, a 57
chevy and the 4000 body). It was still KITT.

I think when talking about K.I.T.T. ,we all have in mind the classic 82
black Trans Am.In the 2008 movie,I hope they'll use the same TA body
only with minor adjustments and mods..like a much lowered TA chassis
and stiffer springs on the suspension!
Somebody talked about aerodynamics for 200+ Mp/h speeds.Well I
should remind you that the 82 TA had a number of 0.28cd in the tunnel!
I don't know a car nowdays, that has a lower cd...so they should use the same car!
Which I think it can be improved a little bit more...say to 0.26cd,and
with a twin turbo V8 engine you can hit that number very easy.

I would love to see KITT as a Trans-Am again. But realistically, I don't think they can get enough of those cars for filming. I mean they are getting hard to come by due to their age. Most are in bad shape and it would cost too much to restore them to at least film quality.
However, maybe they could do something like use a different car and make a KITT Kit of molds and do like they did with the Knight Rider 2000 where they created a different car from another. Then create it to look a lot like the old Trans Am but slightly different in some ways.
I think personally, as long as the show is entertaining, I will enjoy it. I think ultimately that is what matters.
I like your sig though.

Well, I'm a bit behind on this thread but it seems to be good news....of sorts. I'm a bit sceptical about the Weinsteins since they are a part of Dimension Films and they are well known for making bad choices when it comes to releasing "versions" of a movie.
If anyone is familiar with the Halloween franchise, you would know that there are two versions of Halloween 6 and two of the recent Halloween remake.
Popular fan opinion is that this company doesn't know what it's doing when it comes to fan reaction and they love their re-shoots, which screw up a movie in the process.
And in the end, they release the inferior version or product.
So, when the Knight Rider movie is released, don't be surprised if there will be a workprint version of it somewhere out there that is far superior to it's theatrical counterpart.

I found this on Glen A. Larson IMDb page: "Glen A. Larson has 1 in-development credit available on IMDbPro.com. To view these credits click here.", i think this is Knight Rider movie. Besides, Glen A. Larson is included in NBC's Knight Rider writers list "Writers: David Andron Glen A. Larson (characters)", as i understand, he's included here only for creating original Knight Rider and he isn't involved in the NBC's tv-show.
EDIT: One more thing, in NBC's Knight Rider Company Credits i just saw:
Production Companies
Dutch Oven
Universal Media Studios (UMS)
Weinstein Company, The
Distributors
National Broadcasting Company (NBC) (2008) (USA) (TV)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1114258/companycredits
What the heck Weinstein have with NBC's Knight Rider? Is this some kind of mistake?

Nice work on the car.
I will check into TWC connection to the TV show company credits, IMDB is not always correct when it posts new content and information changes as things are announced.
Still it is rather fishy. The feature film has nothing to do with the NBC/Universal pilot, I gurantee it.

Reminds me of the Batmobile from the Michael Keaton - Batman- loved the car.....that screamed Dark knight...all the others since suck! sorry to say this pic of a faux photoshop KITT also does injustice.
Tho George Barris has a KR CAR....I do love the t.v.series batmobile...cept for the bats on the door,tires.....&that car came about from a late fifties Ford futura car....
Any KITT would at least have to be as wide as the 82-89 Firebird-T/A....I 'm a tall chap yet I hit my head & have to bend forward to sit in the back seat...in the newer models. room with Vrrrrrooooommmm!
is what's needed- just not a limo or town car as KITT., PLEASE....THANKYOU

Elementary Watson....all th hype-info about the KR movie & potential new series is only really on the board here...and there has not been any real concrete upates except from the of VK -( whom has my respect,by the way) on the info of KR.
If it not out in mass media from the source then it is pure speculation at best.
