No Commie for Hasselhoff

Post by Michael Pajaro » Thu Nov 20, 2003 1:25 am

Comedy Central is doing their first awards show, "The Commies". In their commercial, they advertise that they're not giving them out to just anyone. It ends with the voiceover "Sorry Mr. Hasselhoff, maybe next year."

lmao I thought this had something to do about communism when I first saw the title of this thread. I didn't know Comedy Central had an award called "The Commie". Thats confussing.

Oh, I think Dave looks pretty good for his age in that picture. *shrugs*

I saw that the other night, and I guess I didn't get it. Why use him as the punchline? For an audience that Commedy Central attracks, I wouldn't think that they would get it. If you see the commerical, mentioning Hasselhoff just seems out of place, like they were stretching to be funny.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it, neps.

And yes, David looks pretty good there for his age. Aside from Knight Rider, I most recently saw him in Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD.

Just for fun, a snippet from a reader's review of said film, courtesy imdb.com:
I mean, a one dimensional actor playing a one dimensional character. Nothing could go wrong, right ? Er.........wrong ! From Hasselhoff's wooden acting, (and lets face it, this guy's been upstaged by a car, and several mounds of silicone in his past roles,) is even worse than normal.
(emphasis mine)

He is 51, he isn't really a young, loner anymore, time for him to take the Devon role :( I hope they get a good somebody special somebody to plan the new guy. Benjamin Knight! I can see it now....

"KITT buddy drive around to the front of the school, Micheal whats us for a meeting with Bonnie Jr."

"On my way..."

*KITT pulls around front and does a spin burning rubber and making a show for the all the cool people oh hang around outside*

"Holy (Bad Word)" says one kid

"What the (Bad Word)" says another

*KITT opens the door for me*

I race off and do Ski Mode to get past traffic...

Everyone is quiet... :o

not really.

when people say david's a terrible actor, i would really like to see them do a better job, or even *get* a job.
