I can't believe this is a game engine movie.
The visuals are simply amazing. The fine control over the camera. Control over character position seems 'almost' natural. I think the plot had to be forced to meet some kind of limitations. But...unlike some past movies made from game scenes, this one 'almost' seems like the engine is working with the artist.
If RockStar went even further with this movie making feature, I'm fully convinced that indie movie makers the world over would be pumping out thousands of movies via such an engine, direct to DVD/streaming video. After all, the credits show about 7 people were involved. And that was mostly voice acting and ambiance/music. (Plus a whole team of mod makers.)
I may have imagined that CG could re-invent the whole movie making industry. But, via a video game engine? Nope. Didn't see it coming from there. That's RockStar power.

It's also Rockstar power to ban mods via a C&D, plummet their reputation, and then take back the C&D and have their reputation still plummet!

R* didn't have anything to do with that C&D, Take2 are the assholes who did it.Assasinge wrote:It's also Rockstar power to ban mods via a C&D, plummet their reputation, and then take back the C&D and have their reputation still plummet!

Doesn't mean Rockstar is off the hook, those scums still make you do a grind for money in online and its full of hackers who ruin the game.

GTA:O != GTA V.Assasinge wrote:Doesn't mean Rockstar is off the hook, those scums still make you do a grind for money in online and its full of hackers who ruin the game.
Besides, why would you play a game that's full of 12 year olds and no mods allowed? Singleplayer > GTA:O any day.

Singleplayer sucks too. Gets boring and I can only have so much fun modding singleplayer before I give out.

I've tried GTA online a couple times. No fun going in with barely anything and a world full of gun toting crazies with weapon levels short of a small army. Now, a private server version may be far more tolerable. However, the single player experience is just fine with me. Never played it too much to get bored with that.
My point was the amazing potential for a conceivably unlimited tool for being creative in the visual arts. Am aware that R* hates it's collective followers whom only wish to make this amazing game into a total playground with mods and I do rather wish it wasn't the case. Because some of those mods are downright awesome and deserve more then a threat of eternal ban for even installing them.

The LSPDFR mods or whatever were very fun to play. Hmp, I might download GTA again just for those mods now...

Most of the games are like that, they create cinematics which is movie-like to attract people.

Completely made without any help from the Rockstar Editor. Sick stuff indeed.
LSPDFR is pretty damn fun too!
