My 1986 Trans Am for sale.

Post by msKEN » Mon Jul 08, 2013 2:29 pm

To the admin/mods if I'm not allowed to do this or this is the wrong place I understand!

Donor Car: 1986 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
Engine: V8 TPI
Mileage: 145000
T-top
Power Everything
4 wheel disc brake
Posi track rear end
Clear Ohio Title

What's wrong with it and why I'm parting with it.

The interior is gutted except for the driver seat and the dash. Everything is still wired up to be working except for the radio which never worked anyway. The car is currently not running. The AC system was removed. It will need a new battery. It also needs about $220 worth of parts from AutoZone which includes a new radiator, and all the hoses. I would say its in need of new belts as well. Other then that the car will run and start just fine (I just drove it up on those ramps to help take out the old radiator), but it has been a sitting project car for 5 years. So I would not trust its brakes or tires for anything so it will need to be towed. The car has been gutted in preparations for a new hawks third gen interior that sadly I never got around to purchasing yet.

So why am I selling it? Well I don't like getting too personal so I'll give the short version. I was injured at work and I am now permanently disabled. I can't work on the car anymore if I wanted to, and its sadly been sitting in my driveway in the elements now for 5 years. The big kicker here is that I was fired and denied workers comp (which I've been fighting in court now for over a year) so all my financial responsibilities now fall on my wife because I can't go back to work. I've exhausted unemployment, and it looks like Social Security is going to be a royal pain in the rear for me. To top all of this off we were hit with 3 storms in a row and our roof was damaged causing just enough damage to not be covered by insurance. So now I'm really in a jam. I sadly can't make it Southern Knights Atlanta because of these events, but I have to put my family first, so the car has to go, because in my situation its a dream that's never going to be a reality until I get other things worked out first.

My sincere apologies to Mark for having to back out of coming to the event.

I Digress, getting back to the car.

I'm selling this as a parts car but really it doesn't need much to get running but at its high mileage who knows how much life she has left, so I'm asking for $1500 Firm. I live 30 mins outside Cincinnati Ohio, and can give more details if needed via email or PM.

What's been done:

* Early 2005 Rob Louisall 4th season Front Bumper
* Ground Effects Removed, holes needed welded. They were fiberglassed but time was not kind to them. See the photos.
* Rear Bumper Replaced With Correct 82 Bumper
* Taillights replaced and wired correctly with correct 1982 Taillights
* GTA Hood replaced with Formula Hood.
* Rear Aero spoiler replaced with correct spoiler
* Front Fenders replaced with cheap aftermarket fenders that don't line up for crap.
* Gray carpet and gray interior completely gutted and removed.
* Car has a stage 3 racing suspension, with front and rear sway bar upgrades from polyuthertine.
* Adjustable Gas Shocks
* New Torque Arm - This thing handles in turns like a dream.
* The entire emissions system has been replaced from the 02 sensors to the map sensor, maf sensor etc every damn sensor was replaced around 2006.
* 3 Inch Flowmaster cat back exhaust
* Warballo Racing Fuel Pump - We cut a hole for easy access to the fuel pump, but its in rough condition, we intended to fabricate and nice hatch that could be accessed by lifting the carpet and sound deadener rather than dropping the gas tank.
* A Poor paint job, it was my first ever attempt and I will never do it again lol.
* All new weather stripping

What is coming with the car

* A set of 1982 Trans Am Fenders. They need stripped and painted but they are in fair to good condition.
* A 1982 Center Console with glove box pad, and correct shift plate. (Does not included Gear Shifter, Sorry Billy I won't be able to make that purchase :( )
* A Set of 1982 Tan PMD Seats - In pretty rough shape would need some foam and new covers for sure.
* A set of camel tan interior plastic parts in nice condition. (I intended to die these rather then mess with the dirty gray ones I had)
* A set of 1982 Rear GM Seat belts.
* A set of Fiberglass ground effects from Wraith Innovations (Need painted)
* A radio harness Kit for an aftermarket stereo
* New 1982 OEM rubber/plastic gas and brake pedal covers in the original gm oem bags (I have to hunt these down)

Image

Don't be fooled by the paint, its very dull the car is just wet. lol

I will have a ton of pictures very soon, I just need to gather everything up to take photos, I just wanted to gauge if there might be any interest at all before I go to ebay or craigslist. If anyone wants to know more about it just hit me with a PM.
