Will KITT exclusively be a Mustang?

Do not get scared just yet folkes- I am not going to harp on about the done to death notion of Kitt being cast as another car in its own right (yawn)

I may be reading a little too far into things hear or looking for a hidden meaning when there is not one to be found. Some sources have suggested that KITT will have to pull off many new features than those highlighted in the pilot. Plus the attack car as we know it has been canned. Therefore, this brings me onto say this... what would the chances be of us seeing KITT morph from a Mustang 500 GT model into another Ford Model (For example a GT40, CR1 etc when in its souped up phase?) What better way of achieving this than having the KR crew showcase two seperate FORD vehicles in one show? (Pure speculation but an idea).

Therefore the crew in theory could take the Mustang KITT that we have seen to date; in my opinion great in looks, powerful but understated 'advanced feature wise' in comparison to the capabilities of the car from the original series) We could then see a gradual transformation into a GT40 or CRV1 model with a whole showcase of features?) I have a feeling that the guys onboard will be looking to pull out all stops to create the WOW factor while remaining faithful to elements of the original. Looking at things from the offset; why would the crew ditch the attack car that we have seen to date without some alterior motive? Ok they may modify or upgrade another Mustang but what if this were the true reason for the change? (Food for thought). Let the speculation begin...

I hope not.If NBC can get licensing from other car companies,KI3T can possibly turn into different models of cars,thanks to his nanotech shell that lets him morph.I hope he morphs into an 8th gen civic for once.

according to the 'science' that Sarah was explaining in her lecture, the nanotechnology can only reform into another shape of similar size, so massively different transformations are out...

it would be nice for KI3T to be a separate entity to the car, as the original was, and have him able to be transferred into other vehicles if necessary...

I knew that,but if the Mustang is bigger,it wouldn't hurt to have a bigger sized civic...LOL.

well there is always KARR, the old failed experiment plot, that could force an upgrade of morphing cars as a solution.

I'm not so sure Ford would allow product placement of other vehicles after they've invested so much in the Knight Rider franchise. (Were there really any other non-Ford vehicles in the backdoor pilot?) If K.I.T.T. does indeed morph into other vehicles aside from other versions of the Mustang, I'd imagine they'd be all Ford vehicles of similar size. I personally think K.I.T.T. will only be changing into other Mustangs, though.

There were a few non-Ford vehicles, not many but a few. Easiest one to remember if the Chevy SUV that was totaled in the end chase scene.
