NEW KNIGHT RIDER STUFF FOR 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Post by krrdr2010 » Fri Aug 07, 2020 7:59 pm

I have some Ideas for some New Toys and Stuff that they should do of Knight Rider:A Die-Cast Replica of Goliath and One of the Knight 4000(JADA Toys and Mattel do Great Work. Also, what bout Hasbro doing a New Electronic Version of KITT(They're doing New Toys of G,I, JOE) Diamond Select bring Back Their Electronic Versions of KITT(Both in Regular and SPM Versions) and KARR. Hot Wheels Elite bring back the 1:18 and 1:43 Die-Cast Metal Versions of KITT and KARR. a KR Calendar for 2022(KRs 40th Birthday) would be Great. Here are two Sure-Fire ideas-A KNIGHT RIDER MEGA-SET on both DVD and Blu-Ray. Take All The KR Shows and TV Movies and Put them together for DVD and Blu-Ray(Ultra 4K, Perhaps?). And A Knight Rider Book that Covers Everything. Who Knows, DK could do One on KITT the way they have done for James Bond. One more Idea-KITT in SPM and KARR Christmas Ornaments from HALLMARK-They Did a Great One of KITT. :kitt: :kittside: :kittconv: :karr: :kitt2: :dash: :dash4:

As far as books go I would recommend getting a copy of Knight Rider Legacy and the Knight Rider Companion. New toys would be very cool, if the new motion picture happens maybe we will see some new toys.

Visited local toy shop and there was this 1/32 Jada Toys KITT models available, so decided to buy it for my Knight Rider collection :)

Here's few pics:

Frontview, in the box. Love the photo in the background, fireball suggests it's from Deadly Maneuvers episode:

Rearview, too bad there's no California KNIGHT licenseplate:

Wheels are a bit deep inside the body, which makes the model look a bit like the "flivver" stuntcar used in Turboboost jumps, or the rubber shell on top of the Trans-Am body. Learned the term "flivver" by watching Knight Rider Historians Youtube channel and those episode reviews :)

Not the most accurate model car, but still I think it's nice Knight Rider collectable.

Why hasn't a company like Danbury Mint done a KITT? The diecast KITT's I've seen are usually inaccurate. This one looks even worse than than the Flivver car.

Why have they put”knight Rider” on the license plate?
Would have been better to have “California knight” that should be kitts plate.

They got a lot wrong in this model of kitt. No interior dash board decals, an all black interior, wrong license plate, suspension is way off, maybe kitt didn't survive the compactor incident free in blind spot. they didn't tint the t-tops, the line between the t-tops is too wide. They made a revised version with hald the dashboard decals missing still and a tan interior but that's still not accurate:

Yes, that's what I was meaning by "not the most accurate" model. For example, if ERTL and Hotwheels could do it, I wonder why Jada didn't make even the license place right? Perhaps licensing issue? Maybe the license for fully accurate Knight Rider model might be very expensive as the show is still very very popular, and perhaps they decided to cheap out a bit?

The model in Knight Racer's link is 1/24 scale and mine is the smaller 1/32 scale version.

During Christmas, Target was carrying that Jada model in KARR. I got soooo excited, I bought it straight out. He's pretty!

This one came out of the blue... A March 2021 release. 1/43 1984 GMC General from Altaya. Minus the Knight chess piece insignia, its obvious this is based on the FLAG semi.

Wow, that is very cool news :) Hopefully that Knight semi truck model will become available in European modelshops too.
Do you have 1/43 scale KITT model? Would be nice to see KITT and the Knight semi model together :)

Not official Knight Rider merch, but an ordinary black & gold Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am in 1/43 scale, made by IXO. Isn't this basically Michael Long's Trans-Am seen in the Pilot, before Tanya Walker shot him in the face?

Here's few comparison shots between Hotwheels Elite KITT model and this IXO 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am model, both 1/43 scale:

I know it's off topic but eeing the Recaro Trans Am right next to Kitt. It makes me feel it really would have been great for the storyline if Devon proclaimed it was Long's car that was turned into kitt but Glen Larson himself stated it wasn't his car left in the desert. They further solidified this by stating Michael Long's body was found in front of his car in season 2 Knightmares. Still hard to believe so many Trans Ams same year around between Karr, Michael Long's car, and kitt.

Here's the Trans Am from Altaya which looks slightly different in detail when compared with the IXO. Looks to be the same mold though.

I Love the Versions of KITT and KARR that JADA Toys have done. I would love to see Danbury Mint, Bradford Exchange, or Somebody do KITT, Especially for KNIGHT RIDER'S 40th Birthday(September 26, 2022). i would Love to See Mattel Re-Release or do a New Version of the Hot Wheels Elite Versions of KITT and KARR(1:43 and 1:18 Scale Die-Cast Metal Versions). The Altaya Version of the 1982 Pontiac Firebird is Cool. Maybe Altaya will do a Version of KITT. The Altaya GMC Semi is Cool.

I Would Love to See a KNIGHT RIDER 2022 Calendar, and for Hallmark to do a 40th Anniversary Knight Rider Christmas Ornament for 2022.
