Entertainment Weekly disses KR... BOO!

Post by Michael Pajaro » Sat Dec 10, 2005 12:33 pm

Each week Entertainment Weekly publishes a "thermometer" showing what's hot and what's not in pop culture. In the December 16 issue, one of things they list as not hot is this:

"NBC becomes biggest supplier of shows for download on Apple's iTunes. Knight Rider fans rejoice."

I can appreciate clever slams at fans (think of the famous Saturday Night Live sketch with William Shatner at a Trek convention telling everyone to "get a life!") but this entry doesn't even make sense. This same issue has a 4-page article covering the revolution of downloadable TV shows. If they're calling it a revolution, then clearly the NBC deal is at the top of pop culture.

Sorry EW. You blew it.

Yep, Entertainment Weekly is apt to diss DH any chance they get, so that's nothing new.
Oh, well...can't win'em all....  :?   :? :? :?

Hahahaha, leave it to Pajaro to have a legitimate argument to what at first sounds like a fanboy complaint. I love ya man,

It's a fantastic point, they clearly contradicted themselves in that magazine.

We know they don't know what they are talking about. :)

I am disappointed however, that they only have the first season for download. You'd think that since Season 3 is almost here, that they'd have Season 2 at least, as well.

I have seen other old shows I like in iTunes though. I'm thinking about this. It'll be nice to see some of these old TV shows again. I hope they add more, too.

Maybe they are releasing S1 to see how it sells on iTunes before they go all out and release the other seasons.

You've gotta love a magazine that looks like the word "eww" when abbreviated.

Eh, I'm used to it. Knight Rider/Hasselhoff is one of those shows/celebrities that's "trendy" to make fun of.

D. Hasselhoff was razzed by Entertainment Weekly more often than not during his "Baywatch" days, and just a few times the magazine gave him a thumbs up, which, to me, is better than nothing......   :? 8)
