The trailer is not really new, its been available for a while and your best shot of getting it is definately ebay.

I've seen a few posts on the board of people who have made theirs, again, ebay will be your best opportunity to get one.

That's been out for several months now. I know a few have already snagged them, and worked on them, but the initial shipping prices were too high.

I took notice how Knight was mis-spelled on the pic at the bottom.

I made a smaller version for my star car... but I'd like to be able to get the bigger one someday.

Today I was just searching KR stuff with Google and came up with these portugese Knight Rider toys (Super Máguina).

Looks a bit funny.. Michal has a rifle, a blue hat and the car is porsche. lol.

Here's the link

I used to have one, dont really remember what happened to it. You control Kitt and fight off the baddies by firing weapons. Really cheesy graphics but back then it was the greatest thing in the world.

Actually, the Michael Knight figure looks as if it was done by Hasbro (the brother {or if you want to say it, FATHER} company of Kenner) from their G.I. Joe line.

Also, the Porsche thing doesn't really surprise me. They probably couldn't get permission to use a Trans-Am, so they use a Porsche as something to improvise (at least they got the hubcap's design correct, even though it's not properly painted). This actually reminds me of a custom toy done by a Mad Max fan. For his customized G.I. Joe "Max", he used a black Porshe for the V-8 Interceptor (He couldn't get his hands on a model car of the actual base car for "Road Warrior", so he improvised). Of course, this also reminds me of my failed attempt at making a KITT car toy from a cheap 1998 Corvette toy I found at K-Mart.

I've had mine for some time now. Pics of the truck are on my website....but yeah, the shiping, customs and VAT was very high. If I had bought the truck seperate then it would have been reasonable, but the customs charges on the 2 RC cars really did shoot through the roof. However, it does seem hlj will probably be the cheapest way for most.

Whos yahoo breifcase is that? I'd like to know where they got the canned heated derived KITT RC car.

Actually, that Canned Heat RC car looks as if he took a KITT model and placed it on the underbelly of another car from that series.

And I know that there is an RC/model car that can be souped up ala Street Racing. I read about it in a RC car magazine, but it was a few months back. I don't know what happened with it.

Hi Sarfraz,

I actually found the guy's auction on e-bay, and followed his instruction to his brief case.

I believe he is:
m.montano@prodigy.net

The e-bay link is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1789958818

Has anybody purchased either the rc KITT or KARR from hlj?
http://www.hlj.com/cgi-local/hljpage.cgi?AOS70611

My question is do the scanners work and what's the quailty of the cars? $200 for a rc is a lot and I just want to know a bit more before I purchase.

Thanks.

I have not purchased it from hlj, but i know a few people who've bought them off ebay. As far as price goes, it depends whether you purchase the car along with the chassis. The car by itself will cost you approximately $50, and an all in one set will be more then that, anywhere from 150 - 200 dollars.

Once you buy a car with the chassis, you can always buy new bodies and mount them on your chassis. Yes the scanners work, but are not as smooth as you'd expect. Someone used to have a video of one, i dunno where it is now.

Hope that helps.

I did buy both the cars and truck from hlj. The prices still seem better than those of ebay....however its alot of money.

I agree with Centaurus17, the scanner is not as smooth as it should be, but its still very impressive. The cars look like very good models, so couple that with a mini-z chassis and you have a great car. However, I have just spent some money for my Celica bit char-g to get a scanner fitted on. Its really tiny, but its much smoother than the mini-z scanner.
