The link was in a message for another CD site for an 87 Firebird called RedRaif. It's linked on my CD site. The RedRaif is a little on the flashy side, but it's interesting work none the less. Gotta love the voice box replacing the center a/c vents on the dash.

A system condition indicator totally makes sense. Maybe it was an attempt to inject a little realism into the dash later on in the shows run. It could also have been a little more eye- wash added to the dash to make it look flashier too.
