Re: Kitt Replica
I'm having the trouble of finding the right donor car. I will find a nice black one but with no t-tops and grey interior and wrong year or i will find the right year but beat up. The only transams I have seen with t-tops and tan interior are 2000 models and up. When it comes to finding the right do...

Re: 92 Firebird
This one didn't have t-tops. I might just wait until I find one with t-tops but it was a good price for a running firebired. A donor car should have the t-tops, it is one of KITT's best options. And its not easy to install in a hardtop Firebird, lots of money involved for a t-top conversion. You ca...

Very very interesting...at least we all know now that the 1:18 scale KITT and KARR models are well on their way to distribution. In a nutshell, Aoshima and ERTL have become partners in this project, eh? Well and good, I just might have the power to purchase both KITT and KARR now. By the way, look c...

Stung by a wasp huh? Must have been an unlucky day, but I hope you're all right now. If you're looking for a late model 3rd generation Trans Am, make sure it has the t-tops and the front fender vents behind the front wheels. These are very hard to come by, and if you are aiming for accuracy for your...

Or a 3rd generation Camaro. The 80s Corvettes have similar body styles as well On a Camaro, a lot of work will have to be done on the rear end in order to accomodate the right KITT tail light assemblies. A Corvette on the other hand won't make a good donor car. The B-pillar supporting the rear wind...

Some bastard outbided me at last minute! DEATH T0 HIM! :vamp:  Yep, snipers are always there to spoil your bid, specially if the item is very sought after. I'd suggest you become a sniper too, if you have the patience (and the money). I am one myself, having sniped most of the items that I...

Re: I'm new
Also, I heard Kitts are not street legal because of their steering wheel and scanner and the car won't pass inspection. Has anyone tried replicating Kitt with a different kind of car say like a Probe? Over here where I live (in Asia), its not illegal to drive around a KITT replica, even with the gu...

And I've heard, (this is just a rumor, so I don't know if there's any truth to this) that the Camaros and Firebirds will be brought back in a few years and will both have retro body styles reminsicent of the early 70s-81 body style. Of all the Firebirds, the 1970's type stands out as the most rever...

Me too. For a while SPM mode was pretty cool, and the convertible mode too. But it was still the same car, and people just grew tired of it fast. It would have been interesting to know if the producers elected to use a different car altogether, a newer, sleeker kind of automobile with newer gadgets....

Needless to say, it's a good kit to use for a kitbash project (no pun intended). Seriously. If you can find any old MPC '82-84 Trans-Am models, you can just borrow parts from the latest print of the KITT model and combine them with the older model (maybe it'd be a bit closer than the retool. Nope, ...

I think K.I.T.T. would be suitable as a '98-'02 black Trans Am, but not the WS-6 Ram Air edition. I think he would look too tough and aggressive in ram air, so I think he would be more suitable as being that car without the giant air intakes on the hood. More along the lines of the Formula version....

Re: Sorry
Pretty cool thought, I myself would like to see it done, then throw in a voice chip to enable KITT or KARR to talk. That would make for a killer 1:18 diecast.corlando52 wrote:they could actually make a LIGHTED dashboard in a 1/18th Scale KITT. How cool would that be!?

That was the time I saw KITT too!!!!! Wish I can experience that moment in time again... Me and my sis sat in the car and engaged in a conversation with KITT, though it was obviously not voiced by William Daniels, it was good enough. We're both very lucky then my man!! Not only did we get to see th...

My KITT encounter happened way back in 1987 when I visited Universal Studios with my relatives (I was in California back then as a tourist). It was the actual KITT that was used in the series and I tell you, it was an awesome experience. Even my sister got to sit in the driver's seat and talk to KIT...

Also look at the 4th season of Airwolf, where they replaced the entire cast, although some of the scripts wern't all too bad. There wasn't supposed to be a 4th season of Airwolf (producers were cancelling the series), but a Canadian film company bought the rights to the franchise and tried to conti...

The 1982 Firebird's stock Crossfire V8 sucked...didn't churn out very high horses and weren't reliable. Later Trans Ams (1985 onwards) had fuel injection and a more powerful Chevy V8 but I don't know if it had the capability to go 160mph and beyond. If not, its possible to do with a lot of tinkering...

True...model kits do have their shortcomings. And the original Knight Rider kit has its flaws, being retooled versions of MPC's stock Trans Ams. But it still does not explain why the AMT version shows a different car on the box cover. No matter how good a modeler you are, it is nearly impossible to ...
