My Hitari KITT and his Evil twin Skippy...err KARR

Morning all! Thought I would show you what I have been working on as of late. I got my second Hitari KITT in the mail a few days ago and went to work with primer paint and a soldering iron! I replaced the red LEDs with rectangular yellow ones and primed and painted the lower half, getting as close a...

Perfect source for model Knight rider scanners

Hey all, I have searched the web for several weeks for a suitable replacement for the anemic scanner that Hitari put in their otherwise perfect Knight 2000 KITT...and I think I have found it! evilmadscience.com has what they call a Larson Scanner using 9 LEDs with the KITT fade (unlike the single on...

Re: 1/64 Johnny Lightning '84 Firebird (black) + Sculpty = K

Ok lets see if I can get all your questions answered in order :) Tho you cant really see it in the first pic, I did do a dash and gull wing wheel (In the new pics you can see the updates I did) tho I wasn't able to do the pods due to the size of the car. I believe the "Bowling ball" hub ca...

1/64 Johnny Lightning '84 Firebird (black) + Sculpty = KITT

Evening all, as a lover of the Car KITT, I wanted something to go along with my Radi-can version and Hitari version but I didn't want to pay $60+ for a Charawheels (Though it is a beautiful casting of KITT) I purchased the 1/64 Ertl Knight Rider KITT, but alas, when I received it, I was greatly disa...

Re: my hitari rc KITT

Some new mods I did to my KITT. One was the tow bar addition (using parts of an 18 wheeler trailer front support) and "twice pipes" (using the trimmed up side pipes from a 1/18 scale '66 AC Cobra) I also modded my scanner a bit and added 4 white LEDs to the driving lights :) Going to do th...

Scanner Mod for Hitari KITT 1/15 (on the cheap...sorta)

Afternoon all, I, like the rest of you was not happy with the scanner (altho the actual RC is gorgeous) of the Hitari 1/15 scale Knight Rider KITT. this is what I did to remedy this on the cheap. I went to radioshack, bought a small two piece PCB board, and 6 rectangular red LEDs. I had an old mini-...

Re: Airwolf and Street Hawk, revisited

While I never really saw allot of Streethawk (my interest was more in to 4 wheels rather than two lol) I did like what I saw. Airwolf on the other hand, from the first Ghostly hollow wail from the blades and turbines, almost like a tormented apparition yearning to inflict the same pain, had me. Seas...

Re: my hitari rc KITT

I've been thinking about this little dilemma with the front scanner light looking like dren...what about taking some 600 - 1000 grit sandpaper and effectively "frosting" the scanner lens plastic? just a thought, it might diffuse it enough and make it look a little better. Just a thought.

Re: Welcome! New to the Board: Please read

My Name is Scott, 42, South Texas and have Always loved the show (ahem, the CAR) Since the first airing in '82. I am a huge fan of the original series (Not so much of the hour long Ford commercial that came out in '09) even by todays standards, the 'Two Thousand still looks like something above and ...
