Re: why wasn't KR08 successful?
I don't buy NBC's 'motivation' here. They would not pour 50 million into a project to keep a movie from happening. I think they took a shot, as they do with all new projects, did their best, and it didn't work out. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the right one. I hear ya Shapeshifter. But let...

Re: why wasn't KR08 successful?
GST was to blame, simple as that. Under the guidance of Dave Andron, Dave Bartis and Doug Liman they could've built in the film, but GST took it down the wrong route, down the TKR/Fast & The Furious route. NBC DID try to save it. They were the ones who wanted it to be more like the original. GST...

Don't forget about Goliath Returns... aren't those the stairs featured during and after Garth's attack on FLAG?

Re: Knight Rider 2008 DVD is here
My sentiments exactly Shapeshifter, thanks for being so much more eloquent than me :) And I don't understand the hate either. That's a helluva lot of money and yes they've cancelled the show, but they were also the ones who brought it back in the first place. They're the ones who were constantly on ...

Re: Knight Rider 2008 DVD is here
That's not what I'm talking about, you think this is about not giving money to the NBC bigwigs, who are actually the ones on huge salaries and DON'T take a cut from DVD sales etc. No, the producers, writers, actors (like Justin and Paul) will be taking cuts, as will the "smaller people" an...

Re: GT 500 problem
You're right, it's not something we should be arguing over ;) My only point I wished to stress is that while 'Top Gear' is an entertainment show, it's factual data is always correct. Believe me, I work in BBC Information and we've been in touch with the producers on several occasions when manufactur...

Re: Knight Rider 2008 DVD is here
Anyone who condones piracy is a sad and pathetic thief! I'm usually not one to say such things on the internet, but I also don't like to mince my words when it comes to a topic I care about. No one in the world has the right to pirate the material that belongs to someone else, no matter WHO they are...

Re: GT 500 problem
I'm not going to get involved in an argument here, but to say that 'Top Gear' is only an entertainment show and so somehow that means its findings should be seen as "entertainment" and not fact isn't on! Fact of the matter is, the GT500 Mustang is nowhere near as powerful as Ford make out....

Re: GT 500 problem
Yes, and somehow I think 'Top Gear' know what they're doing. Solid Snake you're trying to say they measured it wrong, well I'm sorry but they didn't. Brake Horse Power is measured this way, simple as that. This is a professional motoring show, using professional equipment used by professional engine...

Re: GT 500 problem
I did clearly state that they were trying out the GT500 and not the GT500KR, my point was that Ford stated its horsepower but this was a gross over-estimate. 'Top Gear''s equipment is professional, hired for this particualr purpose and measures accurately the horse power, taking into account the met...

Re: GT 500 problem
I know the GT500 was used in the pilot, (and the Knight Rider stunt crews and production crews also increased the horse power beyond even what the GT500KR can do) I was just clearing up some things because 'Top Gear' was being misrepresented, and I work for the BBC. :) In addition, I find it strange...

Re: GT 500 problem
'Top Gear' went further than this small clip shows. The GT500 has horrible, horrible suspension. For a car that's supposed to have so much power they really shot themselves in the foot by making it so uncontrollable when going at such high speeds. However, 'Top Gear' did quite clearly state on the s...

Re: Most popular TV show on Sci Fi UK
Yes it's skyrocketing because people on here are voting multiple times. I have no doubt that KR would still be way out in front but the numbers themselves are false and not a true indication.

Re: Official cancellation posted by Sci Fi
An NBC Universal networks official, an administrator on their UK channel's website with inside knowledge, states quite frankly "sadly the show will not be renewed for a second year" and you guys take that as "it's not cancelled, it's on a break, it'll be back." I applaud your ded...

Well said taoworm, and I'd be pissed too. NeoRanger, you're presentig your own opinions on the pilot (and now Transformers) as fact, let's please stay on subject. I realise I brought up GST but I did state that was my opinion and it was tying in with the comment made by Pete from Sci Fi about how we...

Re: Official cancellation posted by Sci Fi
That's your own opinion, but I loved the pilot and many here did also. It's much easier to remember the bad comments than the positive ones, and as for the "reviews" of the pilot, when it aired here in the UK it was generally very positive but with scathing remarks for the regular series. ...

Re: Official cancellation posted by Sci Fi
I keep thinking "what if...?" as far as Andron and Bartis go, who both seemed very keen about the film during interviews, only to be sidelined by GST. Well done GST and NBC :S "Pete" is a reliable source, working for the Sci Fi channel over here in the UK he's probably the most o...

Official cancellation posted by Sci Fi
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but back in May (going by the dates on the posts I've just found) NBC did officially cancel Knight Rider. An administrator over at the Sci Fi Channel's forums here in the UK posted the following on 20 May: "Hi guys, We can confirm that sadly Knight Rider will...

Re: I have news about a POSSIBLE season 2!
Baywatch Nights. Can I just add that those figures for KR08 on SciFi UK are nothing short of spectacular! Take away the five network channels (BBC One, BBC TWO, ITV1, Channel 4 and Five) and you've got hundreds of digital channels competing against each other. KR's pilot episode got 500,000 and made...

Re: I have news about a POSSIBLE season 2!
I'd hardly say the Sky Magazine is "going mad" for the two-parter. They put a small picture of KITT in a couple of places in the mag, one of these being the schedule and the other in a round up of what's happening on various channels, they do this with every new show, regardless the networ...

Re: I have news about a POSSIBLE season 2!
While I'd love for this to be true, there's no interactive part of the SciFi channel here in the UK, no Red Button or additional services, just the channel and its website. Thing is, around this time the channel released information that they've acquired the rights to the second season of 'Dollshous...

Re: Gary Scott Thompson Step Up....
I'd much prefer the TV series to continue rather than a movie by Glen. And Airwolf didn't fail because of Jan's drinking. Donald P Bellisario was forced continually by Universal to changethe tone, introduce female characters and make it more kiddy-friendly and have more stories where Airwolf was sav...

I agree, he's done a lot of good but I don't like being accused of having an axe to grind or taking something out of context, I know how to read and am mature enough to understand it. Yet another arrogant Hoff interview
The shop my girlfriend works in sometimes gets Irish papers in and in the magazine with the Irish Daily Mail last week there was quite a big interview with David Hasselhoff, he even takes up the whole cover. Anyway, the paper asks him about the new series since it's just started to air in the UK and...
