Orginally, the first two seasons featured a single black Trans-Am that had been built by [[Michael Scheffe]] for [[Universal Studios]]. For the 1985 season, Barris redid the car with more extravagant additions, including [[Super Pursuit Mode]] which featured wings, scoops and gave [[KITT]] the ability to travel at faster speeds. He also gave [[KITT]] a [[convertible]] roof. Barris is also famous for building such custom cars such as the tv series Batmobile, the Munster Koach, the trucks in Jurrasic Park as well as many other cars.
