I really hope this gets made into a series. Three things, though- first, this movie didn't explain what happened to the intelligence in the old KITT, which makes me sad. All his years of loyal service and there's no explanation of what happened to the Knight 2000's AI? That makes me sad! The second thing- get Daniels back, please. Kilmer wasn't so bad, but, the whole time I kept thinking how much better this show would have been with his voice as KITT. Third, please have hasslehoff be more involved. Please make this into a series NBC!!!

I've gotta post this. You know how when you miss an old friend from time to time, you get kinda choked up about it? Well, that's how I felt about watching KNIGHT RIDER tonight.

There were some good parts (recorded it and still haven't watched it all yet, kept switching back and forth from Family Guy and American Dad), like the camouflage mode and when KITT repairs himself.

But the new scanner...SUCKS!! It's supposed to be resembling a "heartbeat". Gimme a break!

Also, where's all the gadgetry on the inside? Where are all the buttons, Pursuit Mode, and everything else we loved in the original KITT?

I still have mixed feelings about the car being a Mustang. I'm not a big Ford fan here and never will be. But, I guess if it has to be, it has to be.

I've followed KR diligently over the last 26 years. And yes, I am aware that this is a fictional TV show, but there's just something about that damn car and that mystifying red light that is so damn cool.

I'd like to know if there are others out there that feel the same way I do.

Was suprised and happy to see a new Knight Rider come back ... but I feel a bit like buckinmo ... expecially about the car. I saw the last '80's episode were Micheal Knight retires and leaves us with a new red Firebird that takes on with a new team. Would have hoped to see a Ram Air instead of Mustang in this new 2008 K3000. When the next episode ?

Jeff said:

Ok. I need to post.

First I need to say this. I grew up on Knight Rider. I had the talking toy car. I was so dissapointted when it was orignally cancelled back in the '80's that I had my parents call the TV station and try to get it back on. I now own all 4 seasons on DVD and have watched them religiously.

Now, as far as the sequel goes, I have to say I was dissapointed overall. Val Kilmer can NOT be the voice of KITT. He's too much of a wus. The car had none of that smart a** personality that KITT originally had. 2nd. The guy who plays Mike Traceur (actors name escapes me right now), I just don't think can fill the role. I think he's too much of a...well....pretty boy. Doesn't seem edgy enough some how.

Now don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the show. But not enough to hope it turns into a series. Not without some serious changes anyway. That being said, if it did turn into a series I would watch it religously again.

Just my two cents. Don't hurt me.

Carlos Martinez said:

Give KITT more personality, but otherwise IT WAS AWESOME!!! Long worth the 25 year wait!

I enjoyed the original series, I gotta tell y'all............ I loved seeing the new and improved K.I.T.T. Though they need to get someone else beside Val Kilmer, and bring back William Daniels!!

NBC has got to make this series happen!!

Simply AWESOMME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND, Mr. Hasselhoff at the end was a WICKED touch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

manny said:

great show i loved it. sure brought back memories, it needs a little more tweaking. david needs to be more involved and they need to bring back KITT's original voice. Overall great job NBC

Love said:

what can i say? I loved the origina, not a true fan of KITT being a mustang though, HATE the voice of val Kilmer as KITT. He can't pull of the role!! The intro music nneeds to be more reminisent of the old, if it waswn't broke... as i am sure ford has a deal with NBC and KITT will remain a mustang, let's add more gadgets and gizmos. the technology show is practically stock in reality... if this get's picked up as a series I hope to hell changes are made first. I would hateto see the atempt flop, if it did it may never make a hundred+ million dollar budget movie...

Wade said:

Knight Rider has already been made into a regular series. The next episode will be shown March 2nd.

jeff said:

i missed the first episode DARN but i think the success of this show depends on if people can relate to or connect this show with the old cuz we all loved the old show, that means get hassalhof in there as a reg and kitt's voice bring back the original, and also some back ground on why kitt is a stang now you cant make a change like that and not let us know why. if you keep a few of orginal elements in the show i think it will do good.

if it isn't broke don't fix it!

Tigerz1974 said:

Saw the show and loved it!! Like everyone else, Val doing the voice of KITT will take some getting used to, and would love to hear William back at the helm but since this is a "continuation" and they completely overhauled KITT, then the only logical choice was to change the voice. I would like to see both David and Knight Ind. Two Thousand be more explained on what happened to them after the original series ended. It really broke my heart to see our original KITT in pieces!! I believe that they did a wonderful job blending the two series together and really look forward to what lies ahead. I watched all the original series episodes and still to this day love them. I think this will be a great series!!
The only other thing would be to see if they could work KARR into the series since we last saw his CPU still working but nothing after that!! Good job NBC and the writers for delivering!!!!

Steve said:

I agree with Tigerz1974.

Overall I was happy with how everything was done. It's almost as if they re-wrote KR history by deleting KR 2000 (which I was happy to see).

The only thing missing was an explanation to what happened after the original series (with Michael, KITT, and the foundation). This would have really handed the torch so to speak to this next generation.

buckinmo said:

Hey Guys!

Me again! Just needed to post a correction on here. Val Kilmer is NOT the voice of KITT. Will Arnett, who is married to Amy Pohler from SNL (and played brother in sister in Blades of Glory) is the one doing the voice.

M said:

bucky,

Wrong.

Will Arnett pulled out due to acontract issue, he does voice overs for GM, and could not do the voice of a Ford.

Regarding seeing the original KITT in pieces, I kind of held out hope that those were spare parts, and that the Knight Industries Two Thousand was still where it belongs - in Michael Knight's driveway. As to the new show, I'm excited. I think it may just take off, as long as they steer away from letting it get campy. I have to say, maybe it was all in the way it was shot, but Mike Traceur seemed to kick butt fairly convincingly. I mean, you have Mike's mechanic buddy there for comic relief, you have Sarah and the FBI agent (can't seem to remember her name) for the babe factor, and I think the new KITT's camoflage and nanotech armor/self repair deal is pretty cool. But was I the only one that was kind of hoping to see a good old fashioned Turbo Boost? Good effort, I'll be watching.

KittSox said:

This Show sucked badly.

What was the point in showing the FBI agent was a lesbian?

What was the point in showing Mike was metrosexual?

Mike wasn't much of an Army Ranger, sleeping around, gambling debts, in league with loan sharks and the FBI will let this idiot drive an advanced car like this, not likely.

For a top down engineered car and computer system, a dweeb hacker could crack the firewall and the operating system in seconds flat, yeah that made a lot of sense.

Why couldn't KITT block the dweeb hacking the system by turning off the wireless functions? Seems KITT is useless.

If dear old Dad's house was state of the art, why didn't he have a program to format the drives or have an AI like KITT running the house? Well, since KITT can't even stop a hacker, I guess that answer my own question.

Why is it that a car that can do 200+ MPH gets beat to Las Vegas by a helicopter that gets at at best 135 MPH even if it can fly in a straight line?

Why is it that the FBI SUV can catch up to the high speed chase so quickly after the crash into KITT?

Continuity sucked, plot sucked, Hasselhoff sucked. This show had little originality, little substance and boring actors.

I know the writers strike was occurring during the making of this show but what did NBC do, hire four 13 year olds to script this show?

You have a major flop on your hands, NBC.

hey i loved the movie last nite and i wanna know if theres gonna b a series again?

Brittany said:

I Loved it but come on nbc... You had us going like this was going to be a tv show again... What the hell... fox has house and bones.. Cbs has CSI and numbers... And you have???? Nothing but gay reality shows... Lets go... Well you have chuck and life but are they on NO... Get with the program... Bring night rider in.

buckinmo said:

YIKES!! My bad!

I guess I entirely missed the story in reagards to Val Kilmer being KITT'S voice. I errored. ;)

Crazy as it may seem, you know what else I missed hearing last night? The telephone touch tones. Let's face it...try as we might, most of us are still hooked back in the 80's, when KR was a "rad" show. And, it's hard for something new to come along, and not compare it to the old.

Daniel W Graham said:

I think kittsox should not hold back on how he/she feels about the show. Should come out and say what is really on his/her mind. On balance, good job.
