"The Kill Point" director Steve Shill is set to direct NBC's two-hour backdoor pilot "Knight Rider," a "Transformers"-inspired redo of the 1980s series starring David Hasselhoff.

Doug Liman, who is executive producing the project, had been eyed to direct it subject to availability. His feature schedule prevented him from helming the pilot, which is expected to air as a two-hour movie on NBC later this season.

Dave Andron penned the pilot script and will serve as supervising producer on "Rider." Liman and Dave Bartis are executive producing for Universal Media Studios and Dutch Oven Prods.

Shill most recently directed and co-executive produced Spike TV's well-received limited series "Kill Point."

He also served as director/executive producer on the Showtime drama "The Tudors," executive produced by NBC programming chief Ben Silverman and his top lieutenant Teri Weinberg.

well this movie if given the proper set up

can work as well as 24hr chrono

it has been such a good movie long ago

it can still be today the all age favorite movie

do not make it too much of a teen movie like small ville

    it needs to have panache

k2000 is a black car that has prestige

its a transam pontiac fire bird

its a big huge car with abig engine

a solid engine not a kids cars to be drive by a kid

do not hesitate to tear it down to think and think so as to get the proper script for this movie

now when i loook at the dash board of kitt

    it pretty much looks like

a fake plastic dashboard with an old cro type tv set

kitt needs as well a revised dash board

and a flat screen screen now :)

on the old kitt series movie when kitt turbo boost we can see defaults on the screen when the car jumps

the stunts and special effects are good but not perfect ones as when attention is paid one can see some mistakes

its has good to be perfect now

the accelerator pedal that lights on with with green led in season 4 its sound s like a toy now

its old and out dated for a new season

the wings that comes out of the car as well that apparently gives more speed

it didnt make the car look too good

of course at the time when one saw that on tv its was impressive for kids

but looking it back again it sound cheap

and ridiculous a bit not too much cos it was favorite movie to mee too

the idea was an interesting one making it have wings like for a an airplane or an air of formula 1 car

its braking system aswell were based on airplanes

i wonda would that really work on a real car

Great wishes for the best of luck on the return of the Knight Rider show to TV. Myself and my kids really like watching it years ago. I only wish I could have some job or something in connection with the car. I have 25 years experience in electonics and electro/mechanical equipment. I know electricity and mechanical things.

    Good Luck on your efforts.
