Um....I don't know where you got your box set from, but mine (the Region 1 USA release) has only four discs, double sided.

The episodes are on them in broadcast order, with Knight of the Pheonix on Disc 1 side A, and the final episode, Short Notice, is on Disc 3 side B. The fourth disc contains the movie Knight Rider 2000.

rhdaussiekitt- Since you don't have the Region 1 box set, changes were made for Region 2 and other sets. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately you also don't have the opening teasers at the beginning of each episode as I understand it. The formats, quantity of discs, art work, and episode orders have been changed as well to be region-specific. Why exactly these sets were not maintained exactly the way they were for Region 1 is anyone's guess. There had been a lot of discussion about this in another thread concerning the DVDs. There might be an answer to why exactly they were changed, but I don't know offhand.

Yup, I think all regions have the DVD with Knight Rider 2000 as an extra.
Mine, region 2 DVD, has also the Knight of the Phoenix on disc 7. Don't know why...

The region 2 and region 4 versions are exactly the same apart from the local copyright and rating classification information.

So we get Knight of The Phoenix on Disc 7, KR 2000 and no trailers at the start of each ep.

Got R2 too. I'm pretty sure I get Knight of the Phoenix on Disc 1.

The KOTP ep on Disc 7 is with commentary - it's a bonus feature so along with the other bonus features, it's been spread across discs.

I love the comentry between david and Glen Larson
especially david going on about which should go got shot
and he kept saying how he wants to do another movie
oh one thing that i never knew was that Glen only wrote the pilot
not the rest of the series? and that Jack Gill ? the stunt guy came in
later... very interesting stuff, i love that on dvds..

i preferred the boxes of region two much more, the discs look awesome, and not being double sided is so much better, and i much prefer watching the episodes without the annoying "let's give away the whole plot" teasers. if they had them as an extra feature like in the starsky and hutch set fair enough, but not attached to the eps, much prefer it the way it is.

and if KOTP is on disc seven it doesn't really matter, its highlighted as the pilot anyway. im sure they have their reasons. i have the r2 box set and i love it to bits, i'm not gonna complain because i have nothing to complain about, i'm very grateful to universal for bringing it out.

:) :) :)

That's good that you can enjoy the sets as is, knightendo. I think the main complaint that fans have who don't own the Region 1 set is that the episodes aren't preserved exactly the way they originally aired, not necessarily whether they like things such as the teasers or not. The art work change on the other hand is just a matter of personal taste. I know it would annoy me if the DVD companies went around switching the order of episodes or their original format; if that were the case for me then they might as well release the syndicut Sci-Fi versions.
