KITT
I'm also one of those who really couldn't care who came back to play what character just as long as William Daniels is there to do KITT. I love KITT with out him they didn't have a show. KITT held the show together!!!!!

If they include Patricia Mcpherson in the movie, she will definitely have a different role. Probably as head mechanic or someone with authority of something. It's been almost 20 years since the last KR episode and I'm pretty sure her character in the story would have gone up in rank somehow. Same as Michael Knight's character.

YES, you re right Knightman,
The plot of the story should be different and
maybe a little dramatic, KITT (KI 3000)
should witness of what happened of the last
15-20 something years, then that's where KITT
makes a comeback, but then KITT realises
one man, and one car cannot do it all alone in
a big world like this, through all the changes,
and so.....they need
more backup reinforcements with attitude,
and that s where KARR comes in, and he will
have a driver, a female driver, to be exact.
The story should have at least.....
more than just espianoge,
it should have to deal with reality situations
as well, terrorists, and corupt cops, and law officials,
gangs, unsolved crime cases, and so on.....
So yeah, i agree with you there,
it maybe a little rough around the edges
for the motion picture, but they should make
the first KR:motion picture a little dramatic,
a little humourous, but.....when they come out
with a sequel, hopefully, (depends if the first one STANDs out
to be the best picture made), then make the 2nd KR:movie
more....spontaneous and humourous but more heart,
who knows, maybe more indepth of Michael Knight,
and his lost love of Stevie getting married, and tie-it in
with his son or something......jus a thought.
KR:motion picture has to REALLY give it some thought
about script writing to make it work, and i believe
it will work, especially as a die hard KR fan.
Well, tell me what everyone thinks about this concept,
or if they have a better one, better than mine.

Re: Knight Rider: The motion picture
Well, I wasn't even aware that they were releasing a KR MP. So now that I know, why don't they use Dvaid as Michael Knight once again?
Weird how all the good shows get "killed" by the future...

I'll say it again, I love the 80's!!!

Absolutely right!!! The old original cast would be sweet - however, this is not going to happen. At least the original voice behind KITT would improve the attendance for this movie. Change the man behind K.I.T.T. - it is no longer KR.citizen_x wrote:What about William Daniels ? will he return as K.I.T.T? for me, that's the most important thing! cuz in my opinion, William Daniels is the star of the show, rather than David hasselhoff!
of course i would be happy to see all the cast members, but again - without William Daniels, the new movie will be a crappy one

I agree, but I was just thinking about when Jim Henson (Muppets voice and creator) passed on. His son had taken over and did the voices nearly exact to what his Dad did. If you get a good voice-man that can do a voice nearly exact to the original, sometimes that works if the original actor can't do the voice any longer.chrisebourg wrote:At least the original voice behind KITT would improve the attendance for this movie. Though I really do hope that William Daniels himself does the voice. It would make it all the more special. Man, I have dreams of going to a car show with my car and having him autograph my dashboard! Someday...

I totally agree with what MonteDoran74 said, it should also be similar to another KR episode but longer and in depth, I also think Mark Whalberg should me Michael, he was great in Italian Job and is exactly what Hasselhoff wants, smart, sexy, and looks good behind the wheel as a young Michael Knight

You got that right... however... without William Daniels, David Hasselhoff & the rest of the cast... its no longer Knight Rider... everyone needs to make an apperance at leastchrisebourg wrote:At least the original voice behind KITT would improve the attendance for this movie. As for the TV Series.. once the young Michael Knight & the new black car has been established... David Hasselhoff should continue on with the Knight Rider II series as the new leader of F.L.A.G. (which would make him the sole survivor of the original knight rider cast)

Everyone except Edward Mulhare (Devon), he passed away in 1997 from a 5 month bout with cancer. The only way to include him in a new movie is to make use of old footages (as flashbacks for example). I don't like the idea of using holograms to portray him, its just not respectful IMO. It would lack soul.SeiferV440 wrote:You got that right... however... without William Daniels, David Hasselhoff & the rest of the cast... its no longer Knight Rider... everyone needs to make an apperance at least

Yea... they could always make the original Michael Knight reminese on Devon & show flashbacks of him and Devon... i as well don't like the hologram idea...HondaSiR wrote:Everyone except Edward Mulhare (Devon), he passed away in 1997 from a 5 month bout with cancer. About two years ago, when Hasselhoff started making news about bringing back Knight Rider as a new TV series, one of the ideas he had was to bring back the character of Devon as a hologram. I suppose it would be a sort of holographic advisor to Michael. They would use archival footage from the original series and blend it into the new show.
I don't think it ever made it any farther than just an idea he was toying around with, and we have not heard anything about it making it into the movie version.

I could only see the idea of Edward Mulhare returning playing Devon as a hologram if he were still alive. I would understand a lot more in that case that the actor is still alive and they want to use him in the movie in a creative way and incorporate him somehow.
Similar to having Burgess Meredeth playing Mickey and returning in Rocky V in a memory sequence even though for the story he was dead. Being that Edward Mulhare has passed away I don't see why Hasselhoff or anyone else would want to even go there to try and bring him back, to me it isn't worth it. If anything, I think they should just use clips from the series as flashbacks like they did in Knight Rider 2000.

did they switch Qs when the old one was still alive? The World is Not Enough, I think.
ANYWAY, not to be a stick-in-the-mud or anything. But I'm skeptical abotu this movie coming to fruition. I know Hasselhoff's trying, and that's great! Go Hasselhoff! But I'm not sure that even he can make it. And if does...to make it do well while keeping good to us.

Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

more and more disappointments....
i keep reading, and/or hearing the fact that the KR:motion picture
is...as Garthe Knight would put it at best, "temporary set-back"
first they were to plan that the motion picture (KR franchise) would
come out by April 2005, and now.... December of 2005.
Now, i dont know about anybody else, but....my patience already
worn thin, just like motor oil is thinning out when u dont change ur oil
every 3000 miles.....
It's frustrating, and i can imagine what David Hasselhoff is going thru
trying to make this motion picture a success, or even trying to get the RIGHT element, right casting, production crews, and so on.....to make this
Knight Rider a successful hit in the box office.
*if people cooperate with the actor and complete the long-awaited development of the film.
Come to think of it...if David is frustrated with all the temporary set-backs
by all these studio companies, and production crew whomever he may/mightve planned to work with, i should think, the first motion picture
should become more dramatic, and on a darkerside.
Resurrect Garthe Knight from the dead, i believe that Garthe survived
from the drowning ocean waters, and well protected in Goliath compartment, cuz think about it, when Goliath went down, remember during the Goliath return episode, in the chase scene, Goliath's windows were up, sealed up tight like a drum.
Anyway, that's my theory, but just like Garthe, i believe David Hasselhoff
should crack-the-whip and do something, move it up, not push it back.
I am one, along with the other DIE HARD knight rider fanatics, and enthusaiasts...hurry this up, por favor...
C'MON SUPER PURSUIT MODE!!!!!

I've been checking for updates on movie news from Cinsescape.com, the latest update I found was from June 2004 and it concerns rumors of Paul Walker being involved with the project:
