What if KITT was on MTV's Pimp My Ride?
Just thinking about fun spoofs but wouldn't it be hilarious to have a Knight Rider-based "Pimp My Ride" episode? Like have someone bring in their KITT conversion and let the pros at West Coast Customs have their way with tricking KITT out? What do you think they'd do? Or better yet, have an episode where the technicians on the show were Bonnie and the other FLAG techs and they were pimping out someone's plain old Trans Am into a KITT car with some extra touches. I think it'd be hilarious. I wish I could do a photoshop mockup of Xhibit and the other guys showing off their pimped KITT car! Anyway, I know it's a crazy idea but it sounded fun when i was thinking about it earlier. What do you guys think?

Well, in order for Mtv to "Pimp Your Ride" your car must be pretty sh*tty for them to ever bother to look at your car. Your income must be slow and small. My guess is to buy a rusty Trans Am from a junk yard.

Well they came close to doing KITT. I read this in this weeks Entertainment Weekly, the most expensive custom they did for the show was a 1981 Trans AM that was worth about $81 dollars, they put 30k into it:

This reminds me of playing with colorforms. Pimp My Ride has a section where you can make your own. Interestingly enough, one of the "parts" you can add to your car is a front-nose scanner! Here's one I did... I had to edit it as the spoilers are only in white (so I made it black) and then tried to reanimate the scanner. Their animation is much smoother.
You can do your own here:

I used a coupe type car, black paint, then added parts. Adding them is tricky. You have to click then drag over the car and while holding down the left mouse button, click the right mouse button to get it to work. Of course that pops up the right-click menu too so I had to keep clicking elsewhere in the image to clear the menu. You can send the link to the finished one via email. I just screen-captured mine to work on it more.

Aw, I haven't seen that one yet, I want to though, they made it awfully yummy...neps wrote:Well they came close to doing KITT. I'd love to get a crappy '82 Trans Am and have them pimp it into KITT, but there's always a chance that they wouldn't do KITT right or even at all... this is West Coast Customs, not Mark's Custom Kits (though I'm sure Xzibit 'n' them could probably pull it off )!
As for KITT gettin' pimped out... lol all he really needs are some spinners, he's already got the monitors and cool gadgets... well, a PS2 couldn't hurt
KITT turned into rice? *Gags* Please don't do that to him...

What I was thinking of doing since this has been my life long dream to build KITT, is to do what my neighbor did. He took a 84 Trans Am, put one of those little alarm scanners in front of the car, got the rims, but the car was rusted on the sides, horrible interior, and a cracked t-top. So I would give a *?$# firebird and let them know im obsessed with Knight Rider and maybe they might do the conversion for me with a little twist!

Its a Car Rim that has a extra set of spokes outside of the original spokes. It has a ball bearings in the middle ( I think ) Which makes it spin when the vehicle is in motion or not.

I love that show! Pimp My Ride rocks! However I don't think I could see some of the stuff they do on that show being done to Kitt. I mean, come on, a FISH TANK??? That one show had me so creeped! What if that car was parked in the sun? Wouldn't the heat kill the fish??? (Poor fishies!)
I could see them attempting to work on Kitt, and him refusing to let anyone touch him! I think he likes his components exactly as they were, altho, I think that tape deck he had would have to be replaced with a more modern CD player, and of course, some kind of connection to the internet!
