Knight Rider game (pc) bugs

I recently got the Knight Rider game for the PC. I am running it on an XP machine. when it goes to load the actual missions, it returns to the desktop. it does the fmv just before the mission ok, but when it actually goes to load the mission, it quits. any clues on how to fix this?

make sure your graphic drivers are updated!

also im sure i read either here or my forum that theres a prob with it running on directX 9 , cant be sure though.

damn. any fixes if its the dx9 issue? btw, my graphics card is onboard intel graphics. have no clue about detailed specs though.

well you can take a peek on windows update, there was a patch or update sometime ago for it.

One more thing, have you tryed uninstalling the game and then installing again?

yeah. like about 5 times already. and my computer is completely updated. I check windows update practically every day.

Is it XP home or Pro?

You checked the disk for scratches and chips?

XP home. and the disk is brand new

Well, im stumped. I know of a few people from here had the sort of same problem. As your onboard you should be ok, still got all the hand books etc? If so, look up you GFX card my friend.

no handbooks anymore. sry. and I have even tried running it in all XP compatibility modes possible. possibly any command lines I can run the game in to see if they work?

well you can start it via DOS, but it wont make much difference from running it like you would via the icon. Have you had a play around with the settings in the options screen? Try running on the slowest settings and see if it works for you.

DX9 Acually made the game run better for mE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know how but after I installed DX9.b I was now able to completly run the game on SupER , with 1024x768 32-bit resolution

and it works perfectly !!!!!!!!!!!! it use to go realy slow before with DX8 on those settings . but now I maxed it out . I should release screenshots !!!!

and Im doing this on a Geforce4mx-se 4agp by the way!!!!!!!!

Maybe it is your drivers? or video card too old . im getting a
GeforceFX 5600 Ultra "older version" for only $126 from http://www.gameve.com

well, what K.I.I.T. suggested above was correct. I changed around the graphics setting and it works perfectly now. now my only problem is one level im stuck on. Im on the Bad son or whatever level and cant get to the second floor of the one building. anyone know how?
