are there any performance specs on the ACTUAL stunt car used in the show

I'd love to know how KITT was handled mechanically. However, those sounds were most definately sampled sounds put into the soundtrack. Which was really sorta silly, how in the beginning KITT sounded like a turbine, but he left us sounding like a Chevy 350 at times.
