A visit to Marks Custom Kits

Post by KnightRider2000 » Sun Dec 11, 2005 2:31 pm

Well I went to show him my Trans Am I just got, and after he gave it his approval (said it was one of the best condition Trans Ams he's ever seen). He showed me and my dad around so I thought I drop a few pics. Enjoy.

I wouldn't have the heart to convert a perfectly fine Trans Am like that... Awesome pictures, though. How long did your conversion process take?

LOL. My misunderstanding. It's not my conversion, by car is still in the my garage, original and intact.

And you got to sit in KITT! That must've been fun. :)

I agree, you have a very nice T/A as well. Are you thinking of converting it or are you going to leave it as-is? It looks too nice to convert, in my opinion. :)

That is your Trans Am in the second picture though, right? If so, it looks like it's in great shape. Very pretty. 8)

Yep, she's mine all right. Probably won't do a conversion though, I'm not real sure yet.

1984 Trans Am, 5.0 Liter HO, AND WS6 package with posi traction. You'll be going so fast you'll yoddle through your nose.

Dude! That car is so MINT!! DAYYUMMMMMM!!! I wish I had a car like that. I wish I had the money for gas for a car like that too. :?

You got one GORGEOUS T/A! Wow! 8)

BTW, is that a Recaro? I wondered because of the gold ground effects and rims.

It's a regular 84 Trans Am with the Aero Package. If it was a recaro Edition, therer would be some Recaro Open Headrest seats inside. 8)

KnightRider2000── I say you should change the rims to the turbo casts and slap some "Bowling Ball" hubcaps on them, "just for old time's sake." It'd be damn close to Michael Long's Trans Am.

TurbomanKnight - Those do look like headrest seats in the front, if you look closely. Could it be...? Those don't look like PMDs. Only KnightRider2000 can tell us for sure. :)

Well, since there are so many questions, I guess I'll tell you the entire story of the car.

This summer I was looking for a Trans Am all over the web. Finally I found one on eBay that had the reserve not met twice. The guy lived in Deleware and I live in Florida. So I called the guy and we talked about the car, an interesting story he told too.

It seems in 1984, he won the lotto. It was evidently A LOT of money, and with it he bought a new 1984 Trans Am, with all the trimmings (except for the Recaro seats, since they were out of of stock). He got the high performance engine, the WS6 package, posi traction, and the performace cam, suspension, and struts, along with power everything and of course t-tops. Anyway, he kept it garaged for about 3 years and never drove it. The car only had 74,000 miles on it and he was the only owner.

So, what was the price for this beauty? I bought it for a mere $5,000, and will never regret it.

So that's the story, and the car is a blast to drive, and I thank God that after months of searching I finally found a great car for a great price.

Sounds like you got a great buy, yeah, i'd keep that as it is, looks too good to modify.

I was never a huge fan of that generation of Trans Ams actually, always thought KITT's modifications made them look phenomanally better, but yours is in excellent condition.

I like Lost Knight's idea, just get the bowling Ball hubcaps and have Michael Long's Trans Am
Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

Tommorrow, I will be leaving for Florida. There is a slight chance that I will be able to visit Mark's Custom Kits within the week. Hopefully, I will. 8)
