What year did the original Knight Rider start: 0

What yellow lights??

i just got my Ertl KITT in the mail and not only does it have all white lights (which it didnt in the eBay add) it doesnt have the black dots in the middle of them either...is this a THIRD version that i havent heard of?

(pics to come)

p.s. - anyone know why KITT has a clutch pedal?

LOL! Actually, the T/As they used in the show as far as I know were all automatic transmission.

but no info on the completely perfect foglamps. cept for the size inconsistencies

That's because Ertl and Aoshima made the K.I.T.T. model overlooking some of the characteristics of KITT and the '82 Trans Am. They gave him a clutch (probably because they mistook the gear shift for a stick shift) and made the tail light bubbly as seen on late '80s/early '90s model Firebirds. It's those minor details of the car that I guess are easy to overlook without knowing much about Firebirds.

Another point that has been raised elsewhere is why does the Aoshima model have white lettering on the tyres?
As for lights all silver is ERTLs second version, the same as has been with the Aoshima from the start.

thats not entirely true...everyone on here has said that the second version DID have all white lights but that they had a black dot in the center of each (probably the piece of plastic holding them in place).. my lights are all white and dont have the black dot.
