The night KITT saved Christmas - Anybody???

Post by blownsi » Mon Nov 25, 2002 12:22 am

Alright I'm a newbie so don't flame if this is a well known thing. I have a cassette recording of about 3/4 of a song about the night kitt saved Christmas. It's a relic from my childhood. I am achiving all of my old tapes onto cd. However because the song was not complete,I tried to download a better copy off kazaa and winmx but found no listing. I then tried searching yahoo and google which led me to this site but still no listing of the song. I tried searching the faq and the forum but still no hits. So I figured I'd post it here. Does anyone have a full copy of this song or know any details?
Thanks

Ok, update. I am not sure if this is the same song, but I found a song listed on the internet as "Knightrider Christmas" by KITT, the amazing car of tomorrow. I can't find a downloadable version yet, but I am still intrigued and shall not stop!!!

The night KITT saved Christmas - Anybody???

Here's a bit of a challenge. Let's try to write a KR-related poem that starts with the well known phrase, "Twas the night before Christmas." I'll go first.

KITT vs. The Cat

Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
A small kitten was rubbing,
Against Bonnie's blouse.

Michael was snoring
At a very odd pitch,
While Devon kept scratching,
His pesky foot itch.

The request had been posted,
For Bonnie with care,
...a brilliant new scanner,
And headlights in pair.

When all of a sudden
There arose such a clamour.
They quickly arose, to see to the matter.

The sight drew a laugh,
On the surveillance screen,
And though KITT had been stiff, he'd never been mean.
But now stood a cat, back arched on his hood,
Tail spiked straight up, hissing loud as it could.
Some dog was barking, which never did show.
It went without saying, but the cat didn't know.
KITT was the dog, who scared the cat,
Never expecting an ending like that.

That sounds like such a cute song! I searched the net and saw that it aired on the Dr. Demonto show back in 1984.

Hey, think you'd be able to post any of the lyrics?:)

Actualy, there shouldn't be an issues with copyright infringement. You're not receiving payment for it, and you're technicaly not mass-produceing it. Post it.

The worst that can happen is they can tell you to stop, and I doubt that. If it did come Dr. Dimento, it could only help.

Wow!!!! That was so worth it.. Incredible!! I loved it!!! Thank you for posting! :)

I laughed so hard at the end..

Kitt: Great time? You call towing a herd of reindeer and a fat man in a red suit a great time?

I can picture it too.. Kitt as Rudolph! He's got the red nose!

People downloading files on Napster weren't paying for it either, but yet the company was suied by the record companies. The whole music on the internet is a very touchy subject, and just because some is not sellling it, doesn't mean that there may not be concequences.

In his best Brian Fellows impersonation: "That song is weeeeird."

I think I should have had a bit more Christmas eggnog before listening to a Dr. Demento song.

I'll save it for next year's Christmas mix CD.

hee hee, this is cool, the actual music for the song is great ! wish i could get rid of the bloke singing coz the music by itself would be good.

anyways, who sings the song ? was it an official release in the 80's or something ?

i'd have to agree with you there. I thought that the music itself would be good for the KR game or something. And then the voice kicked in... ugh.. Maybe someone with access to protools or the like can seperate the two.

Ok, and yes, this would be one of the reasons why they say this board has no sense of humor.

Get over it, yes the music is cool. It is supposed to be a parody song. It's meant to be funny. Don't poo on it. At least it wasn't some twangy screwball voice.

I love it!

And it was just one of those oddball songs that got released. It is a comedy song that was played back in 1984 for the Dr. Demento show which used to be a syndicated national radio show. Such other gems that shone in that show are "Walking Around in Women's Underwear", "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer", and such other songs. This just wasn't one that took off, it seems.

I thought this was realy cool, myself. Dr. Demento parodies rarely ever glamorised what the parody was made after. This was a plus in Knight Riders favor. It was in good taste and added a bit of a Fan Fic element to.

What if KITT had to save christmas?

I thought the dialog was halrious to..

errr what ? i never said i dont like this song or whatever. its cool, i just wish i could separate the voice from the music, then use the music alone for something else like what neil said.

It's actually a pretty simple resampling of the song, and well, wanting to separate the song still sort of disrespects the song a bit. It is what it is. Enjoy it for what it is. Laugh and be free.

im not trying to poo on the song. its good for what it is, and I enjoy it for that. All I was saying was that it would be cool if there was a song like this without the lyrics. :)

i ment no poo. no poo on you. no poo on your shoes.
