And yes, it's starring David Hasselhoff (who is also the executive producer, along with Glen A. Larson).

I believe that the car used in KR 2000 should be the logical choice, since we last saw KITT implanted into the KR 4000.

If they do intend on making a new KR movie i seriously hope its not some stupid knock off like Starsky & Hutch, Dukes of Hazzard. I still cant believe people actually spent money on S & H, The Dukes movie is another one that i still cant understand why any movie studio would want to make it. Im sorry im just tired of these retro retarded movies. But i guess the studios think by mocking the original shows they can make a dollar from the novelty. Knight Rider could actually have appeal if it was done right & made to be a serious movie. But i just dont see it ever making it into theaters, probably strait to dvd if it was to be made. Unless Hasselhoff or someone independent fully funds the project in which there will be no studio influence which i would bet major studios would want it be something like Dukes or S & H. I just saw Hasselhoff in the recent tabloid Star mag. or N. I. with his wife in a Mini Cooper with a scanner in front waving to the camera in Miami, probably to promote the DVD release. But anyways if a major studio would make the movie it would have to have some new bankable star in it to be KITTs driver i dont think they would consider Hasselhoff to ride the movie on. I could go on & on about this but thats just my opinion.

Actualy the best thing for a KR movie would be to get a whole new cast & not to continue the KR story but to start it over. Basiclly a more modern remake of Knight Of The Phoenix to tell the story of Michael Long & how he become Michael Knight etc. etc. Because not all people on this earth know about Knight Rider or are old enough to remember it so in my opinion that would be the best thing to do other continue with the old story & format.

I have to side with Michael on this one folks. IMDB is user submitted information, it relies way to heavily on information from fans which can be easily tainted. When Knight Rider finally goes full into production, it will be everywhere, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, and some news wires. These are respectiable and creditable sources.
Yes, there is nothing that we can do but wait and see for Hasselhoff to announce the project, but lets not wait along these lines, we may be wasting out time.

Not KR 5000 at all, Like i said a remake of Knight of the Phoenix would be the best route, which means a revision of Devon, Wilton, Michael & KITT, i have no idea who would play the roles. I just can't see them taking KR2000 and continuing the story from there. For one thing, most people aren't aware it exists. Let's let it be some sort of AU movie...or pretend Michael got some bad Egg-Salad, dreamed the whole mess up and leave it at that. 
Your casual viewer will recall the series and would be down right befuddled if this new film had Shawn and Russ...and would probably wonder where the heck Michael and the principal characters were. Remember, this movie won't just be for us fans.
Also, as wonderfully cheesy as the orginal show is, KR2000 went too far. We have past the year 2000 now and we still have handguns, we lack crook-freezing abilities, Dan Quayle was never president (and if he had been why on earth would handguns have been banned?! Republicans don't do that. Generally.)...etc.
