Au contrair! We haven't had US built cars as our mainstays for decades. Granted, some parts were sourced from there, eg the V6 engine that the Holden Commodore has was from your Oldsmobile, I think it was. Mind you, we had to fix it all up first!
Ford has been importing the Explorer from the US, as they did with the Taurus. I won't go into how much trouble THEY are....The big 'ol F-series trucks are built in Meckiko. (Purposefully misspelt, BTW)
Getting back to the Morris again, you sure you're thinking of the same car as me? This one?:
I drove one of these for a couple of years as my first car. Well when your Dad gives you a car, you don't knock it! It was a little gem to drive, actually. And quite chuckable surprisingly. Mind you...it was rusty as!
