I can honestly say I hate you... LoL Nice car. I am jealous.
I have been looking for an 88-89 GTa for quite some time.

I'll say congratulations after it's converted - with the right hood, extractors, spoiler, etc.
I'm not jealous, because I can say that I'm close to HAVING a conversion, but I'm too young too have it registered on me. Pics pretty soon!

i'm sorry to ask but is it a 91 model or 92 model. My conversion will be started out with a 87 gta model it's pretty close to a 86 model.

yeah, the hood is going to be one of the major first things that i'll be looking for. i wanna rip off the ground effects and replace the back bumper too so it looks like the '80s trans ams (which i always like better)

Car

Post by KnightRider2000 » Tue Apr 06, 2004 7:22 pm

It's a 92, a 92 had the louvers, instead of a cowl, and it had the change in the fog light/turn signal in the front bumper than the last year.

Damn! That's a nice ride! And with the KR mods it'll look even nicer! I have to settle for one of these:

But at least I'm planning to make it look like this one day:

Not quite a 80's sports car, but a hell of a lot of fun! :-D

when i HAVE the money, i'll be doing the full out conversion...but for NOW i'm really just worried about the dash, pod unit and steering wheel. i'll cut a hole for the front scanner and make it look good, get the correct hood and rear bumper and then get the car painted.

someday though...

sweet car vampire knight! are you planning on doing a full conversion? did you tint the windows to like 90% black to prevent the "daylight' from entering? ;)

Yeah I'll eventually do a full conversion. Right now I'm just restoring the car as best as I can. It may look nice in the picture, but it needs a lot of work. Luckily its an 82 so I have some of the harder to find parts, like the tailights, and PMD seats....I have a set of 15" turbo casts with caps just not on the car. I'm waiting until I get a daily driver so I can work more on the trans am because that is what I drive daily. As for it being fast...far from it =) Sad but true, these cars weren't great performers especially in 82, they certainly have a lot of potential, bur right now its decent. I have something conjured up for the engine and suspension, I'm gonna do that first before I start converting as well, but who knows when that will be. I've had the car for over a year now, I just work on it when I hve the time and money, its an expensive hobby.

Antenna

Post by KnightRider2000 » Thu Apr 08, 2004 6:58 pm

To have an antenna on your 82 trans am, is that standard or an option? Did they make them without antennas, or was KITT modified?
