StreetHawk would win the race, cos in HyperThrust mode its top speed was 300mph...kitts SPM was only 290 something MPH.

Hmm, KITT's speedometer could go up past 300 mph without SPM, and afterwards, most definitely went up past 300 mph, so I am guessing 290 isn't quite accurate.

A KITT/Street Hawk race would be a good match-up. Neither show defined an absolute top speed for the vehicles, and they were both around 300mph. Street Hawk could probably had better acceleration (being lighter), KITT might be more stable around turns. KITT could win one day and Street Hawk the next. Place 'yer bets!

I have read on some web sit the kitt can go as fast as he would like.
I don't thank that is true any more but i do know this in one of the shows it shows his speedometer over 350 mph and I will try to see if I can't find that show.

I think what you're thinking of Nivek is a line from one the bad guys who says something like "in terms of speed, the question is not how fast will it go, but how fast do you wish it to go". He obviously wasn't speaking literally. It might be from Knight In Disgrace.

It's not "Thank", it's "Think". I "think" you are right.

The quote I was thinking of is actually from Chariot of Gold. The members of Helios are watching a videotape of KITT's abilities, and the woman says "What you are about to see will astound even you. This is truly one of the engineering wonders of our time...In terms of speed, the question is not how fast will this vehicle go, but how fast do you wish it to go."

Again, she's not speaking literally but just saying that KITT is capable of incredible speed.

think: ( P ) Pronunciation Key (thngk)
v. thought, (thôt) think·ing, thinks
v. tr.
To have or formulate in the mind.

To reason about or reflect on; ponder: Think how complex language is. Think the matter through.
To decide by reasoning, reflection, or pondering: thinking what to do.
To judge or regard; look upon: I think it only fair.
To believe; suppose: always thought he was right.

thank: ( P ) Pronunciation Key (thngk)
tr.v. thanked, thank·ing, thanks
To express gratitude to; give thanks to: He thanked her for the gift.
To hold responsible; credit: We can thank the parade for this traffic jam.

Thank is not the past form of think. They are two different words, just thought I would let ya know. :)

Think of it as learning, and not criticism. :)

The Turbo Interceptor from the movie 'The, Wraith' 1986 filmed in Arizona. Im sure you all know the one. And my msntv is acting very weak as usual, so i have not viewed all 3 pages of this thread. Sorry if this car has already been mentioned. But i think the Wraith's car The Turbo Interceptor could take KITT out of commission.

i think that the defender can beat kitt in a death match. but in speed, kitt wins that hands down!!!!! now don't get me wrong i love kitt. but i think the defender (the morphed silver Viper car on the tv show "Viper") can beat kitt. but i tell you a better match is the stunticons from the transformers!!!!! and if kitt makes the stunticons mad, we all know what happens. they will transform into menasor. and kitt would be up $#@% creek!!!!

Hmmmm...now we all know that KITT is just fiction. But at least it's adult fiction. Oh, alright, teen to adult fiction. But Transformers? C'mon.....

ok ok i see way you guys think that the viper would kill kitt. I don't think he would have any such luck in doing it. I mean really look at what kitt has been hit with and then look at what the viper has.

ps maybe the viper could damage kitt but kill him I still don't think so.

pss and I don't think kitt could kill the viper. I think it would be a draw.

Good point Kev.

Kitt has shown that he is very resilient. And as you say has taken bigger hits than anything the Viper could through at him.

About the worst the Viper could do would be to either stop Kitt dead with the static pulse or blow Kitt up with a missile up his exhaust…..

In either case we know that this would certainly disable Kitt but would not destroy him.

Basically to really take out Kitt your looking at a car shooting tomahawk missiles or something equally as destructive.

Airwolf would be able to pull it off, but of corse, that’s not a car.

I can’t actually think of any cars that shoot anything nasty enough to blow up Kitt.

Kitt wouldn't kill anything. He's a wissy do-gooder.
