Taoworm - Back from the Dead!

Post by Matthew » Wed Jun 19, 2013 2:04 pm

Instead of posting in one of the other threads, I've decided to create one dedicated to dealing with this situation specifically. The others are now locked due to the way they've degenerated over the last few hours, so please feel free to create new topics for any issues you may have with these parts.

To begin, I feel it's necessary to note that the PM we received contained no actual explanation as to why this happened. As such, I've been forced to suspend the Taoworm 2323 and Tiffany accounts pending further investigation.

Unfortunately, none of this is not as straightforward as it may seem. As a result, rather than closing this thread immediately, I will instead be soliciting the thoughts of the Knight 3000 replica builders who'll be directly affected by the actions that are taken next.

This way, Neil, Mike and myself are as informed as possible as to the impact our decision will have on you guys going forward.

Matt

Thank you. What's all this, it looks like Darth Vader's bathroom?

This is my limited understanding of the matter: someone pretended to have died and got other people to confirm it but now he has revealed that he is actually still alive. :?

That part I understand however I am baffled as to why a person or people would do that?

I believe there's a phylosophical question as to when you die,the measure of your worth is who will be attending your funeral? Some actually want to see who will miss them.

I don't really want to get into the specifics here guys, but this thread should go a long way towards explaining what happened. To try and remain impartial, I'll let you all draw your own conclusions. :good:

Yes, I have heard of that but don't believe in it. The true measure of a persons worth exists only in the hearts and minds of those left behind whether they be a thousand people or just one individual. A single person can have more love for the deceased than ten thousand shallow gawkers at a celebrities funeral.

I, too, am so confused. I read the other thread but it still doesn't make any sense to me. If it is true that he's really alive, then I am extremely grateful and happy for that fact. However, I'm extremely bothered by this entire situation. In my mind, the question becomes: 1) did he just fake his death (or have some fake it for him) for some unknown reason or 2) did he actually die and someone has now used his old account to try to mess with the KR community? Either way, I don't feel good about the possible answers. I think Matthew did the right think to suspend the account for now until this can be cleared up and answers provided. I'm sure I join a lot of others here in waiting anxiously for the results.

Josh posted an "explanation" over at the Foundation:

http://www.knightfoundation.net/F0rum20 ... =1&t=16765" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don't know a thing about the quality of his merchandise or how he handled customers. But it seems that he doesn't care at all that people are upset with what he did, and doesn't even understand WHY people are upset. As far as I'm concerned, he is - as they say - persona non grata.

So on that other forum he admits that he faked his own death, for what reason is beyond me. He also seems to be defending what he did, yuck what a rotten individual.

I really had respect for Josh and his creations, genuinely felt emotion for the loss of a fellow Knight and real bad for his family. I won't say too much but that was a bad way of dealing with issues that could have probably been explained without faking a death. Who am I to judge on why people make decisions to do such things? that said there was probably better ways to go about business is all. :?

Is there going to be some sort of vote for the outcome of this situation or is Taoworm permanently banned?

In my opinion, Taoworm should be banned for a period of time, and when he is able to return, give a sincere apology to the administers an us as a whole for that ill-conceived idea of "fake death"....but he was a good contributer to the Orb for the K3000 replicas.

He has called me a couple times but I haven't had time to return the call. Every time I think about it; it's like 2 or 3 am after I get off from work!
