The best question is, for those of us who got the DVDs already - is it worth it to trade em in and purchase this set?

Pros:
Cool packaging
Single Sided Discs

Cons:
No new extra features
It's unknown if it contains the corrected Season Three discs

Oooh, I really do want this! Especially considering the dvd’s I have now keep freezing up in my player. What would be really nice, though I doubt will happen, is if Universal would send us a coupon for something off this set if we can send in all 4 upcs from the old ones. It would make up for us suffering with these low quality disks. Cause really wanting better disks would be my number one reason for getting it. My number two is of course the cool box.

That's a good reason to pick up the box set. I got pretty lucky with my sets; the only episode throughout all of my sets that froze up a little bit was "The Ice Bandits," but that was the old flawed Season 3 set. Now that I have the revised one, I really don't have a need to pick this up, but it would still be cool to have the episodes on single-sided discs. But if it still contains the flawed Season 3 episodes, it's not worth it.

Same with me, my first season disc however with White Bird was not readable either!

I've just Pre-Ordered it from Amazon !
I already own the first two season (guess why I didn't bought the rest...) So for me this set is a great opportunity to purchase the entire series in one swing, and for a decent price all together !

what was wrong in the first place with the season three discs?

It would also be a wasted opportunity for Universal to not redo the rush job Season 4 set with a better transfer, episode synopses, and the two missing teasers for "Knight Song" and "The Scent Of Roses."

Here is an alternate shot of the box. Check it out - the sticker has the VM and the lettering on the box looks like a metal texture.

Widescreen? Really? That would be awesome!

Didn't KITT's scanner bar have 8 lights, not 7? Guess they had to make some adjustments for the electronics.

Looks pretty good though but I'm more interested in seeing what the discs looks like and what's inside the box, rather then holographic-like text (which I've seen before on the standard boxes) and a lightbar. Anything can look great from the outside to me if you dress it up enough.

Well… normally yes. But considering that it was shot in 4:3 they would be cutting down the image to make it widescreen. You're probably gonna want to watch it in full screen with the pillar boxes on the sides.

I think that might just be the special features - like the one on one interviews were widescreen.

Noticed that too. I think that the button might have a light behind it - as the spacing seems to lend itself to it. Here is a closer detail of that area. This also looks like it might just be a render - so actual final product may vary.

I HOPE THEY INCLUDE THE COMMERCIAL TEASER THAT FIRST SHOWED KITT AS A COMPETITOR OF THE GENERAL LEE. THEY HAD BOTH CARS SIDE BY SIDE AND THE GENERAL LEE HAD A "00"" INSTEAD OF AN "01."
