Knight Rider/KITT Toy

Post by Victory Red » Fri Aug 29, 2003 2:07 pm

When I was a kid there was a knight rider toy that was out and available, but my parents never bought it for me. It was a KITT car with a MK Action figure. KITT talked a few lines and I think his scanner lit up. Over the years I have found two MK action figures to that set but no KITT. So I have to MK's but no KITT and what I really want is just KITT.

Does anyone have one that they want to sell?
Does anyone know where I could find one to buy?

Heheh, the talking car and figure. :D Um, think you're best bet would be looking on the ebay auctions:

http://www.ebay.com

they usually go for like over $100, but sometimes you can find them cheaper. :)

Hope this helps. :)

That toy always annoyed me as a kid. Yeah, I had one, and liked it, but . . .
The scanner light didn't light up or anything, and the car & figure were outta proportion to each other.
That seemed to be the "main" toy set they were pushing, and it could've been better.

I also think the toy was the best for what it could have been at the time. Toy technology has come a way since then, and if they were to create one now it may be able to have those items, but back then the cost didn't warrant it. They just made sure to have the coolest feature, which was it being able to talk.

i have the kenner talking knight rider car ive had it for some time now
it takes a battery with a slider that can alter the speed of kitts speach
now maybe mine has ben used more than others but the speed changes every time you press the number plate .
its very strange but what the eck it is old.
has any body else noticed this with theirs,
the other thing is inside the car kitts modular voice box is to the side of the dash not the midle

Well it is the most rudementary of technology. What basically is rotating the voice disk around is a rubber band, and they get break down in time, exposure to the elements etc.. It could be just that you need a rubber band, because the one that they are using has gotten uneven in time.

The Kenner kitt car

Post by sheltonw3 » Mon Sep 01, 2003 11:28 pm

I just got one early this year and changed it from a 1st season to 4th season by hacking out the dash and trimming the overhead and installing lights and creating a graphic template for the dash style and resetting the steering column for switch pods and and not to mention sanding down the nose slightly to give kitt a true 4th season look and I also redid the electrical for the voice box system and managed to replace the battery unit with single "AA" battery and run a "AAA"pack for the lights!...but thats all I am doing for now!...If I get another kenner car I might make it into a convertible or S.P.M. car and if that happens it might be next year

So then what are you supposed to do? All I could see was the KITT with the flame job. How do we see photos?

We'll see later as I am preparing to move into a security building were my conversion will be safer!...and I'm hoping to expand my work area for further customizing on my models and I also hope soon to get another kenner kitt for either a spm or convertible which means I have to do a 3/4th season dash again!...but I sure would like to do a 1st season light up dash too!...but all these projects take time and I am still working on my conversion as well!
