KITT's Voice Modulator Thing

Post by RiderMistressK » Fri Jul 18, 2003 12:29 pm

Hey everyone!!! Here's a question for you all: Which voice modulator do you like better on KITT, The flashing kind or the one that goes up and down? I like the one that goes up and down!

I think people will overwhelmingly pick the 3 bar voice modulator. But more specifically, I prefer the season 2 version over the new one introduced in season 3. The columns of red lights pretty much stayed the same, but the surrounding status lights were different. I liked the old style of the Oil and P1 S1 etc lights.

The 3 bar setup, or perchance, a horizontal LED group? (I have a homemade one in my car.)

Ditto. I liked the S2 Dash much more than any other season, including S1, even thought all that had changed was the voice mod.

I like the late 1st season to second season 3bar voicebox but I also like the 1st season red square version too.
I have put to my site a gif-animation of the pilot-episode's voicebox (copy&paste):

I'll try to make the 3bar version too...

Yea, I love the 3 bar version. Don't care for the KR 2000 version or the first season one. Don't care about the buttons around it as much, as long as it's got the three main bars.

The two sections of Kitt's three-bar modulator in KR2000 were slightly out of place with each other, and it bugged me throughout the film (one of many things that did  ) And I agree with the other thread about his voice in that film - when Kitt first spoke up in the garage, it sounded completely dubbed in, and ruined the build up, I thought

Sarah, I know SOOOoooooo much what you mean about being annoyed with the voice modulator in KR2K. It just keeps me perpetually aggravated throughout the entire movie. You'd think they would have at least gotten that part right, but nope... grrrrr

It wasn't just that that annoyed me, but also the fact that the lights that go down either side were pastel-coloured, rather than a vivid colour.

yep love the 3 bar.

Hey RiderMistriss... you should have done a poll with this thread...would have been funny to see 100% 3 bar and 0% red block :)
