I don't remember that flash animation there before... Did anyone take the time to watch it? If you wait long enough you'll see KITT, and even his scanner scans during the animation. Not badly done.
yeah its not bad ay...bit dissapointed to see Kitts not showin in the gallery section though. :(

PS... my previos post was in replys to KnightDrivers comments.....
Not to fear, The Fat Guy is just demonstrating it. The self driving scenes were performed by the stunt men. Someone told me that was Barris showing it off but it doesn't look like Barris to me. But then again, that was 20 years ago. Barris looks alot older today....

I didn't know he did the Back to the Future Delorean. And is he allowed to take credit for KITT if he only did the SPM mode mods? :-?

i'm pretty sure the car will be in the gallery site soon enough, as it mentiones that more will be coming in the future.

As for the Deloreans, Barris had no hand what so ever in the making of one. It does seem however that Barris created a replica, which he calls a screen used car. This is according to the webmaster of BTTF.com:
That's just the problem. Barris doesn't claim that his car is a replica -- he claims that it is one of the three original cars used in the first film, which is a blatant, out-right lie (all three original cars are still located in various places on the Universal backlot.) I've never understood why Universal allows him to market his knock-off as such. I suppose money really does talk.
if I read this thread correctly, this may be Barris replica, as any fan of the series knows, its pretty far off:

You can see more photos of the car at http://www.bttfdmcproject.ezhoster.com/ ... orean.html

if you look at the details near the car door, you can see a Barris tag on it, so that is his car.

Ever noticed that he often pauses as he's getting in, and then the camera angle changes? New car, off he goes. Almost as obvious as the numerous tyre skid marks on the ground from previous practice runs of a stunt. Oh well, not everybody can be as good as some of us :-D :kitt2:

There are some scenes though with one continues shoot...car drives up...micheal gets in, shuts door and drives off..... So in those scenes he must be sitting on the guys lap. :)

Actually, even though most of the time the guy that was SELF DRIVING kitt was on the driver side in which they needed to cut the scene so David could get in a new car. but, I believe in season 3 and 4 they developed a car with the self driver on the passenger side. So David could get in and out in the same scene. If you notice the picture posted on the first page of this thread, it is the passenger side area that is used for the seat the guy is displaying on the ground. Just depended on what season, epsiode and car that was used. I heard there were a couple self driving cars made for the show.

I always wondered if that picture was the passengers side or if the picture has been reversed?

But in any case that explains how they did the single shots.
