What made Michael Knight so cool?

Ok, in order to get more ammo for The Shadowy Flight on Knight Radio, I am going to ask you all a question. What do you think made Michael Knight so cool? What was it about him that made women flock to him, kids think he was a spandex-less superhero, and such, was it the car? Was it the hair? Was it the attitude?

Well i remember i was about 4 or 5 years old when KR aired in Portugal.
I said WOW! The guy has a talking car i want to change my name when i reach the 18 years old to Michael Knight and have a talking super car, and off-course be a super hero police.
Now im 17 and i dont want to change my name to MK (ho no!) don´t want to have that goofy hair but i want to drive a Pontiac Trans-Am and get the chiks ya know what i mean.
Yes it´s the car that made Michael so cool.
But KARR ho yhea that car i would love to own.

probably coz he wasnt like a business man, he wasnt old, he didnt drive around in a shirt and tie etc etc

david at the time, in the character of michael, was very trendy, he was hip and cool, coz of the clothes and the car.

a car is like a fashion accessory, you can judge people by their cars, the two matched, KITT was a 2 door modified sporty coupe so it all fitted together nicely.

This was a cat who could spend all day in the intense Southwest American heat wearing a black leather jacket.

The name of Michael Knight's fashion, in my opinion, was Incorrect Sizing. Check out the pants - too small. Check out the sunglasses - too big. Check out the shirt - too tight (thus the top two buttons undone showing off the macho chest hair).

Michael Knight defied the norm and eschewed fashion. It was a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man...whose fashion does not exist!!!

He wears one of at least 4 slick leather jackets.
He's a loner.
He helps people in need.
He drives the coolest car on the planet.
He has a good job with responsible, caring people.

He's not afraid to say something a bit nerdy like "You're in way over you head, man!" to the bad guys when he has them grabbed.

He's not afraid to wear a pink shirt because if you make fun of him, he can punch you out...or better yet, Kung-Fu you.

He can get money from Devon or KITT and pay it back with only a smile.

In my, not so humble opinion , it was his confidence.
Michael's was comfortable in his own skin, in who he was, in what he represented, and how he went about completing tasks.

Isn't that the definition of 'sexy' ?

I never really thought he was all that cool myself.

He wasn't a nerd or anything but he never seemed to be super cool to me.

Probably the only thing (appart from driving Kitt) which I thought was cool about him was in the last season when he started using martial arts more in the fight scenes

I think if I had to pick any one reason why he "worked" it would be that he was really just an over sized kid.

As Devin said "He brought to the foundation, not only his dedecation, but his love of life"

1. His easy going attitude.
2. His committment to fighting evil, at any cost.
3. His smile.
4. His taste in clothes.
5. His often oversimplified point of view.

He was very cute, though over the years he became less cute, he was cool, I liked him, because amid all this high tech wizardry and what not, he was like anyone else, had little no clue what half the stuff meant. I also liked that he thought with the brain in his head, not the other brain, well, most of the time he did....
