What would Kitt look better in today?

Please don't, I was the one that jumped on you and acted like a butthead towards you, no hard feelings I hope.KOSI wrote:I would actually like to apologize for part of my post,
Now there's a car I hadn't thought of, a very good candidate for KITT, awesome design!KOSI wrote:I personally would be very pleased if Kitt ended up in an Infiniti/Nissan Skyline G35 Sport Coupe, or indeed, a Skyline of just about any recent model, R32-R34.
I thought from your post that you were the complete opposite as I thought you were lumping the Tiburon and any other foreign car into the ricer category and not giving it a fair shake and judging it on its own individual merit, my mistake, which is why I flipped, again sorry.KOSI wrote:I am personally very ranged in my automotive tastes, and I judge cars by their performance and utility, not by their image

if the Viper wasn't taken already from that other Sci-Fi series, I would say that one would be a great pick. Although, it doesn't have the damsels kid space.
I did a quick search with some American car designers, the best I came across was this, the Chrysler Crossfire. Thoughts?
The back doesn't look quite 100%, but the front seems nice.

if this was 1993 and not 2003, id have to go with my absolute favorite 90s car (the one i own) a 1993 ford thunderbird SC
its got the sleek look, the power, and the backseat.
oh and heres the 1990 35th anniversary tbird SC which i swear was modeled after KARR, lol
and of course, my personal favorite, my own SC

I dunno Neil. I like the car a whole lot - it's hard not to, but KITT's scanner seemed to look more like it belonged there. In KR2K they just cut a slit in the front of the car, and it lost some of its charm. I think any potential KITT body should have some of the straight edges that make engineering a scanner spot into it easier.

Yea, I can kind of see that. No offense taken. That's part of the reason I removed the grill in the first place. Although the two incarnations of KITT make me question even our practice of taking cars of today and making them "KITTified" The original KR used an exisiting car, however the KR2000 movie used a design loosley based on a Pontiac concept, and even then on designs that many had never seen.
So the reality is, will KITT be something more than what we are doing. I think we are all thinking too small and perhaps KITT will be something one of a kind.
