Where to see KITT?

Post by towguy » Wed Aug 14, 2013 6:21 pm

Hi guys!

I'm coming from Finland to US for a vacation in September, going to do some exploring in LA, San Diego, Tijuana and Las Vegas.

As a big fan of the show i'm of course planning to visit some of the locations while there, El Mirage is the first place to go 8) (great work with the map, btw)

Here is a piece of info that i need help with;
Is there a showroom or a car-museum(?) somewhere in California where i could get a glance at KITT?
Does George Barris have an open showroom for public and does he have a KITT there?

Thanks!
Kari

George Barris shop is open to the public and it is in North Hollywood, I was there 3 years ago and he has in the main show room (with walls covered in movie posters) a TV series Batmobile, a KITT, and a custom Corvette convertible called the Barrister but those may/may not be in there anymore. but they should still be on his property he also had a Muster Koach (aka the hot rod car owned by the Munster family in the show The Munsters). All I can say is check it out if you are in that area.

while you are in LA I HIGHLY recommend the Peterson Auto Museum, it is 3 stories of cool cars.

Sounds like you'll have a very nice holiday(?) visiting Knight Rider locations :)
Never been myself in LA (nor elsewhere in USA) but I can imagine it is a Big place. Living myself too in a city which population is 105.000 here in Finland ;)

Yessir! Smashing progress so far; Barris(photographed myself with KITT), Petersen, El Mirage dry lake, Sepulveda dam, couple of hotel parking lots used in the show + numerous other tourist-thingies.

Now in San Francisco, tomorrow it's Fear and loathing in Las Vegas, then Grand canyon, and next weekend back to LA.
Putting some serious miles on my rental Impala ;)
