About the detals of 1-2 season overhead console

Post by littecaser » Thu Apr 26, 2012 8:21 am

Dear members

I am currently working on 1/8 scale 1-2 season KITT by using monogram Camaro.

I am looking for the detailed images of overhead console for season1 and 2, however, there are no clear image of these on web.

And there are only few scences that I can check overhead console in the show.

If anyone has clear image of original 1-2 season overhead console, please introduce me some pics here.

Thank you.

I don't think there are any clear screen shots of the Season 1 or 2 dash (they are different). Here are pictures of what my console will look like. This is Season 1. I don't know who owns this console. It is from what we can piece together from watching Knight Rider episodes. The only thing that is not really correct are the double row of red and green square push buttons. From what Michael Scheffe has told us, they are suppose to be just a single row of toggle switches. But from the screen shots, and watching the episodes, it looks more accurate this way. I hope these pictures help.

Looking Good, Brian!!! I see you went with the two rows of 6 push buttons on the overhead like I did. Only difference is I did alternating red/green and yours are all red. Looks really nice, buddy!!
Are you using them for anything? I did that whole engine starter sequencer with them that I posted on the other board.

Hey Chris,

I went with two rows of 5 red buttons. 10 total. I did not care for the mix of red and green up
there. I like the symetric colors. I was thinking of lighting them up but the car is bright enough
as is. LOL. They are not hooked to anything other than a tone generator. At the moment, it is on
my kitchen table. Dash is in the living room, etc.... LOL.

I gutted the interior while I was having the engine repaired. I am doing a full repaint and
rewiring while it is out. I am adding in a seprate sound system linked only to the dash and
not the car. This will run his voice player and sound effects. I just got the car back today and it
is running like a champ again.

I am currently trying to get a few scan boards for it. I had a couple that Don sent me but they caught
on fire last year and I pulled them out before they took my car with it. Going to see if I can get
something a bit more reliable and functional to match the dash!

Yikes! Was that Don Colie's scan boards? Good thing you were able to get them out in time.
My overhead buttons (5 also...I mistyped) work like this...When you turn the ignition key, they light up, and the car will not start. You press the keys in a certain pattern (and they tone like the show), and, if done correctly, they will go out and then you can start the car. I agree that it would be a bit too bright with them lit all the time while you are driving.
