Video quality on the new DVDs

Post by neps » Fri Jul 30, 2004 1:09 pm

While working on the review of the DVD disc, I noticed that there was a obvious improvement to the image quality. I know a lot of people were asking if they cleaned anything up and the answer is yes!

See for yourself:

Hope this is of interest to you, I know it pleased me.

Yes, the image quality on the Universal release is a vast improvement on the earlier versions. The old Region 2 disc Neil compared it to contains the European syndicated version of the pilot, which is identical to what we get on TV over here (minus the commercial break images). The episodes on this set, however, are remastered versions of the original, NBC-aired shows, complete and uncut. For Region 2 buyers, the pilot is identical to the version on Playback's The Best of Knight Rider DVD.

This set is amazing!

don't be to sure about that. I have a lot of bills to pay as well as rent, so it may be a while before i can actually get it but that doesn't mean that I won't try to get it any faster. I just won't be getting it through the mail.

Hey, Neil, besides the packaging photos, could you possibly link the thumbnails of the DVD menu shots to larger full-size versions, please? I'd love to see the pictures up close, especially the menu snapshots.

Excellent review also - you should consider a career in DVD reviewing for a magazine. Seriously.

Sure thing, are these better? They're not quite full size, but larger.

And thanks for the compliment Stringfellow Hawke, I only wish ;) I don't think I could though, my grammar is often times horrible, but I love movies and films so at least I got that going for me.

So long as its being mailed first class air mail then you shouldn't have a problem. I am waiting on a c.d. for car parts from Classic Industries from down in Florida, been waiting just over two months since the last time I orderd it and It still hasn't come. I just don't know about it anymore. Why is the mail so slow in the U.S. anyway?
