Hello fellow Knight fans!

Heres a demo video for a Kitt scanner screensaver thats in the works.

Please excuse the crudity of this demo video, I threw it together quickly in Movie Maker, this is just to get a look at it action.

The scanner is positionable to where you want it on screen and also resizable to fit any screen resoloution.

The added sound fx besides the scanner whoosh have been borrowed and added in to show you that you can put what sound files you like on it, I dont have permisson to use those so they wouldnt be included, these were used purely for myself for testing purposes.

You can have custom playlists for any music or SFX you want, I had it playing tracks off my Stu Phillips Scores disc, that sounded pretty cool. You can add whatever you like and shuffle/randomize the play order, you could even make it sound like a Kitt replica if you so wished too.

This was created purely for my own use but If anyone else is interested in having this just say and I will put up a link for you to download either the SCR or the self installable version as soon as they are perfected, It works on both XP & Vista. Im toying with bitrates at the mo to try and keep the file size small.

I wont be offended if you dont like it, or better than that if you have any suggestions to improve it they are more than welcome. Suggestions or criticisms Please!

I don't know about anybody else, but I sure like it. I wouldn't mind a copy of it myself. I'd much prefer the scr over the installer. I have one suggestion. How about adding KARR's yellow scanner. You could than have an option to chose which one to display. Or even have an option that changes between KITT's and KARR's every so often. Anyways, nice work weeezl.

Hello mate!, I like your idea, Its do-able to have both but its something Id have to consult over, I wasnt the guy who created the scan effect, that honour would go to Victor Kros who`s kindly provided me with the scanner to make this.

Ill see what I can do, I cant promise anything mind.

One suggestion I have is maybe you could find a way to create an option to have the New KITT scanner too?
As a new fan of the series that would *really* make my day!

I'd like it. Is there a way to turn off the sound? As cool as it is, I feel like it would start to drive me insane if it played constantly, lol. Regardless, I'd love to have it.

Ill work on creating a Knight 3000 when Ive seen some of the new series and see what they do with the scanner, maybe there will be a new scan sound I can add too.

Currently the version I have on my pc, you can only mute the extra fx, the scanner whoosh is on all the time.

The mute all function will be available in the final build.

But wouldn't turning off the speakers on your PC take out the sfx?

Well..I`ve got a build ready which worked on the 4 pc`s I had in this week for repair, also I sent it to Victor Kros last night to try out but he experienced some lag with the screensaver, hes got a top-notch Sony Vaio Pc, so in saying that Im reluctant to post a link just in case any others experience the same. I know its not a machine fault, I think it could be a case of me setting the fps of the video wrong or codec issues. Will be fixed soon, would have spent more time sorting it but Ive been really busy.

For those that want the screensaver, Im planning on knuckling down and getting both the Kitt & Karr versions ready very soon, Ive got a family members wedding to go to this weekend and as soon as Im back I'll get these suckers finished!

Although Im gonna take my laptop with me so I dont miss any posts on KRO or I feel the need to chime in and post....

Im planning a KI3T screensaver too, I've tried to recreate the scan sound by mixing Kitts whoosh with the Cylon sweep, so far it sounds cool.

The only problem I can see is synchronizing the SFX with KI3Ts scanner, this could be very interesting..........

As promised the Kitt Screensaver is finally complete.

After many hours of tinkering with codecs and compression, Ive finally got these down to 1.5mb and Im happy they are 100% compatible with Windows XP and Vista.
