How did KARR get the new paint job in KITT vs KARR?
A question often asked on these boards, is how did KARR go from pure black in one scene, to his two tone colour scheme in the next?
Well, the obvious answer is that a few scenes were cut in syndication, especially from more recent showings of the episode.
Here is the dialogue from the infamous lost scene:
John: Ok thats it, you said no cops. You stay here tonight, then you're on your own.
KARR: I don't understand. I thought we were friends? My circuitry needs repairs, and I want to alter my appearance. I can reward you handsomely for your help...?
John: No thanks. Oh, no hard feelings though. Oh, it was fun. For a while there I felt like a kid again. Felt like a teenager with the hottest car in town. Trouble is, I'm not a teenager anymore. I have responsibilities. I got plans. Got a job.
KARR: You repair boats for 4 dollars an hour.
John: Hey, you weren't complaining there back at the beach when I towed you out.
KARR: Nor am I complaining now! Just pointing out what should be obvious.
John: And what is that?
KARR: You need me. I meant what I said earlier. You may not be Aladdin, but I am the genie. I can make all your dreams come true.
John: Thanks anyway.
KARR: As you wish...

I recall Micheal and KITT gave subtle hints to the scanner fading when both of them were scanning the tracks at the beach. Micheal said something along the lines of, all those years in the beach must have corroded KARR's systems. The recent channel 5 (UK channel) showed KITT v KARR pretty much uncut and included that scene Sith discribed above.

er, anyway jup, I think it was an uncut version as it contained that scene and many others that were not shown on the original ITV (80's UK) showing.

sorry sometimes I translate just word by word.
I was looking for this episode on VHS odr DVD when I was in England, but I didn't found it. I think it doensn't exist.
Well I could record it in German, when the send it the next time, but I search it in the original way, so it is easier for me to improve my English

That part about "Circuits needing repair and altering his appearance" were shown on the local channel here (Star World), at least on this current rerun. This channel does strange things with the programme- the mismatched end credits, then the odd divides in the double episodes, then this supposedly edited scene being aired. Are there any other scenes that were cut out from that episode? I had watched it a little more closely that time, so I might remember.
