Voice of KARR in KR Movie?

Post by JJSoCrazy » Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:44 pm

Who do you guys think the voice of KARR shoule be in the KR movie, the guy from Trust Doesn't Rust, KITT vs. KARR, or someone else. I believe it should be someone with a deep, scary, and recognizing voice.

Paul Frees (who did KARR in 3rd season) also did Disney's Ghost Host in their Haunted Mansion. When Paul passed on, another guy named Chris (forgot the last name) took over. It's said that Chris produced the same dark, scary voices that Paul could. Perhaps this new guy would be able to reproduce the same voice of the 3rd season KARR, and hopefully it's character as well.

I think any deep, dark voice would work, and add a bit of a tube-hollow echo to it like they did in the 3rd season. But voice alone isn't the whole deal. The way the actor portrays the personality of KARR would make KARR who/what he is. The actor would have to portray KARR as dark, manipulative and sinister.

KARR had two voices, and two different personalities (malfuctioning and nieve in season 1, manipulative, dark and scary in season 2). So there's really not much we know about KARR or get to know him, given that we were presented with two different versions. If they present us with a 3rd version, it may even work, since KARR wasn't really too established a character. So long as the 3rd version (if a 3rd version is used, or even new-improved previous version) is done well, it should be just as entertaining. :)

I would say that they'd be better off duplicating the Paul Frees version. I like to think of the differences in the character simply as K.A.R.R. learning from his experiences with Tony and Rev in "Trust Doesn't Rust." Then again, they could change his personality yet again to show his growth since "K.I.T.T. Vs. K.A.R.R." It would be consistent with the series and with K.I.T.T.'s slight personality change in Knight Rider 2000.

Peter Cullen did the voice of KARR in his first appearance.
Not sure if he has passed on as well. I know he did the voice
work for Optimus Prime as well as other great characters.

I'm not sure that KARR should be the villain in the movie. I really like when movies have villains that you just really really hate and can't wait for them to get their comeuppance. You know, like Knight of the Juggernaut, or Eraser, or some of the Bond movies. And I just couldn't hate KARR like I like to hate the villains in action movies.

Well, I think that K.A.R.R. should be the villain, an stay Cold, Emotionless and No Care for Human Life.
Please, I don't wanna see K.A.R.R. warm an caringImage
That's K.I.T.T.'s job :D

K.A.R.R. in my opinion, should be a villain that you love, NOT HateImage

Like LORD VADER for exampleImage

...an who doesn't Love VADER??? hee hee

Althought, I wonder what it would be like if K.I.T.T. an K.A.R.R. would happen to team up Image

I think KARR should become a good guy but not a "nice" good guy but a rather dangerous one. Maybe out of necessity Michael and KITT would agree to maintain and allow KARR to live in return for KARR's help. And of course always butt heads (so to speak) with KARR's fierce independance and refusal to always go by orders, etc. :)

KITT and KARR team up? I hope we see that in the movie. I could see them going back and forth about the "Problem-ridden-prototype" / "Inferior Production Line Model" ribbings against each other. :) In fact, I did a couple fanfics about this (as have others). One of my fanfics, Multiples of Code even won the fanfic contest here. :) I hope KARR doesn't get destroyed. I love seeing him and he really is cool! I rather see Goliath get an AI and be something KITT and KARR have to work together to get rid of or something like that.

Oh yeah, and KARR should NOT have a driver this time, nor need one. I mean, that would keep him 'bad' even if he's on the same side - kinda like he doesn't get along with humans or drivers, etc. But he'll manipulate a temporary 'driver' to entrap a criminal or whatever. ;)

Look at the Season 3 again. Yes he was blown up. BUT his CPU was STILL FUNCTIONING and working at the site where he was blown up. They showed it flashing lights in the midst of all the pieces that were spewed around.

There's also rumor that KARR will be in the new movie.

And in the movies/TV, nothing is impossible. :)

KARR isn't "dead" - Yet.

Well,

We shall see. I seriously doubt they will use KARR in the film unless
they plan on retelling the story. YES, KARR was blown to bits. YES, his
CPU was blinking, but..... Do you think the foundation would really
spend the funding to rebuild KARR when he was supposed to be dimantled
anyways? I doubt they could even affoard it. Hell, it took a group from
the ghetto to rebuild KITT because FLAG wouldn't pony up the dough to
fix him. And, what did we get for it? Stupid Pursuit Mode. the one thing
that killed our beloved show forever..............

If they do a film, Get a GOOD story, something that hasn't been done yet,
Bring in David as Devons replacement (not character but job) Get a new
group to live the adventure and above all, KEEP THE OLD CAR!

That's exactly my point. I like action flics where you HATE the villian and can't for them to meet some sort of satisfying doom. As my previous example, Knight of the Juggernaut, you really hated that guy with the mechanical hand tha twas torturing Devon like that, so it was fantastic when he lost. If anyone saw the Ahnold move Eraser, you know what I mean. The bad guy is so despicable that at the end with he says "You've just been erased" and the guy's car is hit by a train. It's awesome, but you see, I like KARR, and don't want to see him annhilated (and we know that KARR's number one fangirl, FuzzieDice, doesn't want to either, that's for sure).

True, but how many people (besides Barrio) knew anyting about
the technology used in those cars creations? But it is possible for sure.
Most of the people behind KITTs construction were killed off in one of
the episodes.

heck i wrote a fanfic about that.

and knightdriver, i didn't know that that many people were killed off at one point O_O...like in real life???
